ROLL-UP INFO: FOTA 18.11.x & uC D/L 18.45.01 SW Update 13-17 RA3/Vp3-NA & Ra4 VP4-NA

Just discovered this topic after having my GPS go nuts on a trip home from PA to RI on Nov 3. Since then it has gotten lost once but otherwise seems to work although the clock was off yesterday. My version of SW is 15.17.5 which states take it to the dealer. My question is has anyone taken theirs in to a dealer for update and if so was it free or how much did it cost?

Go to the very first post in this thread and there are instructions on how to do it.

The quick overview is that you will have to download the correct file, extract the files to a USB flash drive and then plug it into your truck. You will have to do it twice, once for each version.

2015 RAM 2500, not sure what version of radio but it does have NAV. I looked up the software version and it is 15.15.5 which says take it to your dealer.

Go into dealer mode and get the PN:
( 2015 Ra4 would be 68238619Ax )

* Dealer Mode (Use this to identify your Radio's P/N and S/N !)
.. Hold Hot+Cold+Front defrost buttons for 5 seconds

Those are old v16 files at NavRepair.

I have all the 13-17 Ra4 VP4-NA files in another thread (linked in the bottom of the OP at the top)...
Working on getting some of the RA3 Vp3-NA files...

I believe 18.43.01 is just a little older version, but still fixes the GPS rollover issue.

18.45.01 is the latest release, and is what they're pushing out now.

If you already have 18.43.01, then your nav system should be accurate. You can install the 18.45 release if you want, but are probably just fine with the version you have. If it's worth 20 minutes of your time to have the latest version, feel free to go for it.

Some members on the Grand Cherokee forum have successfully went from version 18.43.01 to 18.45.01.

I just finished updating from 17.43.01 to 18.45.01 via USB drive. It took about 20 minutes.

Mine is a Canadian truck BTW. I never got any over the air update messages, but had no problem updating with a flash drive.

The 18:43:01 update have been told is corrupt and they came out with a patch update 18:45:01 to fix the 43 update. Had my radio replaced Nov 14 2019 and they installed the wrong update .Got Ram customer care involved and they said they the dealer used the wrong update. Now the dealer called me back and said their is a update called 19090 RTA above the 18:45:01 update. This is what he intends to put in my radio which is a RA4 unit.Also he informs me that if the update does not work on a warranted replacement radio, I would have to buy a new radio out of pocket from the dealer. Never ever herd of this RTA update 19090.This is crazy they mess it up and want me to pay for a new radio which they are installing under warranty. what are your thoughts about this?

Wow, thats nuts!

I would let them do the update. If it works, then your done and dont have to worry about it.

If it doesn't work, and they wont fix their mistake, i would sue them. They are usually more reasonable after they receive a court summons.

Update on my issue with the 2015 GPS.

Just got back from my scheduled appointment to get the GPS SW updated. At first the service rep played dumb like she had never heard of this issue. After mentioning the SB she dropped that tact. She said they would have to update to an interim version and then the final version which is consistent with what I've read here. 30 minutes later they told me they didn't have the right SW version for my truck and couldn't download it since they didn't have an empty flash drive. I volunteered to go get a USB drive for them. They then said the service manage had to download the SW and he was out to lunch (at 11 am?). I left and they are supposed to call me when they have the SW.

Came home and called another dealer, explained I was having an issue with the GPS. They acknowledged the problem, said the first reboot had a problem and they were waiting for an update from Chrysler and that I would be contacted when it was available. They said it would be a recall.

What the heck is goin on with these dealers? They think we are stupid sheep I guess.

Not sure if the dealers have access to the files a different way, but once the 18.45.01 update came out, someone pulled the 17.43.01 and 17.11.07 files off the server.

I'm guessing uconnect in their wisdom assumed no one would need to go from 16.x to 17.x instead of going right to 18.45.01 first.

I had a similar question... I'm on 16.13.13 which states go to the dealer but I have a transplant 8.4. Does anybody know what order I should do the updates?
