Is anybody running the S&B CAI with the 100 dollar extension box on it that extends down to the bumper ? My question is it worth it?

I asked that question to Matt @ Moe's Performance and he said it didn't show any extra gains over just the cai on the dyno

Do you know where to find a Dyno on this CAI?
The S&B is what I'm running, was curious to see what they had on paper compared to real life driving and noticeability.

I have the S&B with the scoop. The scoop points straight down; it doesn't actually "scoop" incoming air but it has a nice striaght shot into the S&B's airbox so I thought why not? I add their pre-filter "sock" to the filter every winter to ease my mind about pulling snow into the airbox.
It's REALLY well designed and installs easily. It's supposedly #2 for power net to the Vararam but if you do get snowy winters it's by far the best choice.
I wouldn't buy it to try and get crazy power or additional MPG but as far as CAI it's fine.

Like said above, because the scoop faces down instead of forward, we have not seen much of a gain from the additional scoop. I would put that extra $100 towards an upgrade that is going to show more of a return like a tuner.

Two years on I still like the S&B.

I didn't by the tube, but did leave that end open because it is low enough on the vehicle that I'm not getting heat saturated air.

In my two years with an S&B I have not found any splatter inside the CAI box, so for my driving I'm pretty confident I don't need the sock--even for driving in snow.

Of course I don't go mudding.

I might use the sock for dust and sand, but I'm in VA not the South West, so I haven't encountered any tumble weed (or grit) that the filter can't handle.:naughty:
