Safety recall N08 13V-038

Hi as topic says..

I checked on Mopars site if I hade a saftey recall..
I had 2, first once was a simple U04 was a simple fuel tank strap.

The second well let's put it like this. The rear axel pinion nut that must be inspected. Well it came loose.
Didn't feel anything at all the truck drove just fine. Once in the shop as the pull of the cover lots of big metalpieces came out. I had been broken in serveral places.

Now the shop who has my truck, first they said that the need it for a week. Now they have had it for almost four weeks. They keep telling me that they are not sure what's covered by Dodge.
They had been mailing them for 3 weeks and no answer.

Today he called me again and said that if it was not covered by warranty that I had to pay for the hole diffential my self. And yes it was expensive here in Sweden. Almost 1400usd... and two weeks until they had it at the shop. So they are gonna have my truck almost 6 weeks....Damm I want my truck back!!

Has anyone else had these issues? What covered by Dodge or not?
My truck is a 2009 Ram 1500 sport crewcab..

I f you are the original owner and had all the required inspections done, I believe you have a lifetime drivetrain warranty. I believe that would include the rear end.

No I'm not the original owner. Bought it last year. Don't know but, can I check it somewhere? It had 4 recalls on it but only two had been done.....

According to your info, you have a 2009. The lifetime warrsntw only applies to original owner. Dealer already told you it is not covered, what else is there to check ?

OK...no they didn't tell my about the lifetime warranty on the drivetrain or that it only applies to the original owner. From the begnining we only talked about an inspection. And if my rear axel pinion nut had come lose some parts had to be replaced. They were talking about the bearing and some gaskets that should have been replaced.

The only thing that the said that was not covered was the gasket where the ujoint connects to rearaxel. That I had to pay for...

But all of the above was a surprise for me? So alot questions I know... just wanna know so I don't have to pay for anything that is covered by Dodge....

Talked to the shop yesterday. And asked IF they had got in touch with fca after I gave them the phone number?
And they finally had done that. Asked them IF the diff was covered by dodge? He couldn’t tell because he didn’t know? The guy who handel this warranty didn’t know yet he Said....hmm....

Im getting seriouly tired of them!! They had my truck for 5 weeks now!

another funny thing happend. A friend of mine has a 2010 ram who also has this recall. He went out to them as well.
they inspected his truck. And they Said that his diff was trashed aswell. Gave him the same price as the gave me?

don’t they have pull the back cover of to do such an inspection? Before they tell anyone that the diff i trashed?

don’t know if I like were this is going.

Any suggestions on what I shall do?

Seems odd that both trucks need the diff replaced. Did they send your friend the same set of pictures?

I gonna have a talk with him. IF they call him and say that his diff is totally blow IF could have some pictures of it?

Hi again...

I didn’t fel anything unusual...while drivning? Thats kinda odd.....

Anyway the shop that has my truck, I called them yesterday since they told me that my would be Ready on this friday. When I got there they told me that they had forgotten to order a bearing!! So my truck wouldn’t be ready until next Thursday!! WTF....they have had my truck for six hole weeks now!! Also they told me that Dodge won’t take the costs for that blown diff!!

What I am I to do? Won’t be any christmas gifts this year. Tried to call tha fca sweden today again.....no answer I gave up after 1,5h....

Don’t know what to do anymore? Help anyone?

took a screen dump.... I don’t see how the diff isn’t a part of this? IF it has come lose and destoyed the diff? Why is it not covered by dodge?

Anyone got the hole recall pdf? With description on what the need to do?

Hi again....

Talked to Dodge Sweden several times this week. Turns out that they won’t cover a blown diff at all. They only cover the costs for a nut retainer!

That was the answer I got today, after 6 weeks.
So the diff is gonna cost 1400 usd plus labor.... Nice

Are you guys sure that they normaly cover the costs?
