I know the tuning would be an issue, but if the dealer is installing...?

I'm assuming that the scat pack should go on every challenger with the 5.7, and the 8 speed auto challenger has MDS like our trucks...so that's what has me thinking.

I believe there are less expensive ways to obtain 75 HP/44 TQ, but, it is interesting,,,

to the wheels? plus an aftermarket tune could probably yield even more, probably make the 6 speeds fail

I agree, but we do have limited cam options as it is, so I thought it could be an alternative to the 392 cam swap or paying $800 for a comp. Just a thought.

Very true.

I posted a thread a few weeks ago about the 5 and 6 speed 45rfes. As far as them failing; I found out that it's mostly about how you drive. It's best to not do any WOT out of overdrive, and don't hold WOT into 4th. It's just how the trans was built that it has these weaknesses.

I guess this works for the guys that want to keep the warranty and want more power. I was wondering what kind of gains the comp cams were getting

I put the VVT 266 Comp cam in my truck. It's off the shelve and 1 of 3 selections 266, 270, 274 back in '13. I pick it because of it's RPM power range, 1800-6800. Tuning was a B*%ch, 2months and AJ had to have a few different maps and tables added to Diablosport template and technically is a Preditor tune. Even now I am waiting for RD to be completed for short runners. A new SRV template has to be made once that's completed. Slapping a cam in and trying to tune it with the current diablosport template isn't going to yeild a lot of power for you unless you build from mine and a few others progress with these swaps. AJ, Josh, or Mike should be on your list of tuners only.

My truck has a slight lope, not like old school, but nice for the VVT. Keeping power to the pavement is hard but I'm starting to think of that area. I have literally melted my tires like a drag car, rubber all over the box! The truck is as fast as any SRT 8, just can't mash it at/under 4000rpm in any gear below 4th.

If I was to do it again, I'd go with a custom grind!

Dodge / Mopar Scat Packages 2 & 3 Performance Kits. Go from the streets to the track!

So mopar finally released the scat pack for the challeners, chargers, and darts.

My questions are:

Would the cam fit and produce power in our 5.7s?

Would the heads be beneficial?

Would a dealer install one of the scat packs on a ram 5.7?

If I remeber this correctly, these paks come with Factory calibrated new pcm's. Ported Eagle heads with bigger valves give gains. More air, means more fuel, =POWER! But as above post, you will need a tuner! These truck pcm's are like really finicky to say the least.

The article I found on hot rod says all installs completed by dealer require custom "calibration" by Arrow Racing

Stage 2 and 3 kits come with factory calibrations. The details of that install well I'll have to check with 2 guys I know who have done it already on their challengers.

Edit, Yep! Arrow Racing is the Authorized shop for installing the calibration. Still mopar Engineered and recalibrated.

I actually read all 35 pages of your cam thread last night. You went through alot atleast Arrington took on the project though.
