The cam bearings are not serviceable. Do not attempt to replace cam bearings for any reason. If the cam bearings are damaged, the cylinder block must be replaced.

If that is truly the case then it's a terrible design. Even if they've made bearings that last 100k miles it's still terrible.

At the end of the day, if the HD truck cam is aimed for the torque, it might be a better upgrade if you plan to lift the thing up and throw some larger tires. And it still might be a better upgrade for those who spend more time in the low rpm range. You get driveability due to increased torque but sacrificing top end power. I noticed hemi specs in HD truck: lower compression ratio and therefore lower power and torque. Driveability gives you better fuel economy. My personal logical assumptions ...

The 5.7 Car cam makes plenty of torque. If you hunt around for dyno's of the Manual R/T's they put down a nice torque curve that would work pretty well in a 1500. Every completely stock 5.7 car I've driven feels like it's got a truck motor and doesn't really have a whole lot in the way of top end pull. They do make great cruiser's for that reason.

Hell even the stock SRT 6.4 configuration would be sweet in a truck. The torque curve with a tune on those is nice and flat and they blow their *** by 6 grand. Mine is a 305 roaster and I can jump my mustang buddies off the line, but if we start from a roll they pull away with their top end.

Nice torque and power curves! So far it seems I'll go the non MDS cam from HD trucks and Hellcat lifters & tuner of course to disable MDS thing.
