I ended up at the muffler shop I use Tuesday morning. He does still sell Magnaflow but doesn't stock them anymore. He stocks Flow Pro which I haven't heard too much about but he brought out a 24" Flow Pro Max and it looked pretty stout with a straight through design like a Magnaflow but 50 bucks cheaper. He cut the OEM muffler and resonator off just before the muffler and brought out 4 different muffler sizes so I could hear them and pick what I liked. I ended up with the 24" and a custom hidden tailpipe tucked up nice and tight to the body. He even told me if I don't like the Flow Pro Max to come back and he would replace it with a Magnaflow. So far so good. It has a nice deep tone at idle and when driving normal, under hard throttle it sounds great too without being obnoxiously loud. No drone on the highway either. We will see how it sounds towing the travel trailer this weekend.

cool, post pics of the tailpipe section when you can. my 24" magnaflow definitely drones with the load on the motor and the rpms in the typical hemi drone zone, but it's kind of nice to have some bass/sound if you want it. i would suspect you'll get some drone while towing...you could experiment similarly by driving uphill. if it's too much for you, you could always add a resonator back in the system or just manually shift to a higher gear.

That is VERY cool that he did that. I have never heard of a shop doing that.

My 2010 TRX had a single exhaust. I had an 18" Magnaflow dumped right over the axle. It sounded mean, and looked clean from the back, as you could not really see the exhaust.
This is exactly what I just did to my '18. Pulled the rear pipe out and added a $6.99 turndown to the Mufflex 18". No crappy looking resonator and definitely sounds mean.

How does it resonate/vibrate in the cab on cold startup? I had the 22" magnaflow and it was pretty bad but only on cold start.

It definitely vibrates on a cold start, but not unbearable...and as soon as the rpms drop a bit, it's fine. The turndown is under the bed, not under the cab, so I think that helps a bit. When I did it, if the turndown was under the cab, I wasn't going to do it as I thought there would be too much resonation.

Here are some pics of my set up. The tailpipe looks pretty close to the spare in the second pic but it really isn't. In the third pic you can sort of make out the tailpipe in the shadows but it is pretty hidden from view.
