Spare tire problem

My truck gets Krown coated every year and he sprays the crap out of the spare tire hanger.

By looking at it it could sit on the ocean floor for a decade and not seize.

I removed the bumper and used some scrap metal I had. I would do it differently I would use 2x2 or 2x3 square tube. I would notch it to fit because I used scrap in the beginning I had to reinforce the piece I used with angle iron. I bought two pieces of pipe that slide together so that the gates just slide in the pipe. The whole thing cost me about 200cad

The bumper is about 2-3 inches back from stock but you have to look to notice it

I wanted to make it removable. So I can take it off for running around the city

The tailgate stays on
