Just started yesterday. Only cruise buttons work. Have done some research and have found that it could be the clock spring. Appears there are quite a few folks with this problem and no definitive cause/solution. Dash screen is stuck on trip mode. Anyone here have this issue and resolved it?

TIA

Could be a clock spring, but, also, all the steering wheel controls go thru the right switch assy, converted to LIN bus, then shuttled to the clock spring, where is is changed to can bus, then sent to the BCM.

Okay, just gotta say your title is misleading. There's a difference between steering controls and steering wheel controls. ;)

2022 Ram with 8.4 basic radio 6 speaker . I have intermittent problems with left rear steering wheel controls which changes channels and inputs. Works for a week, off for weeks, no pattern. Also audio quality is muddy and poor at some times but I'm not sure if this is related although it is also intermittent. Was working ok the day the dealership looked at it, radio was at current software. Had some service bulletins about loose wiring they looked at. But since controls were working that day they could not identify the issue. Did not remove steering wheel which made sense since controls were working. I don't usually connect Android phone or use Bluetooth, but I wonder if it could be a software problem between phone and radio??? I'll have to wait until problem resurfaces and bring back to the dealership again.

Update: disconnected the batteries for about an hour then reconnected and everything works now. Been working since December 18. Fingers crossed. Maybe it’s like rebooting a PC or phone. When it starts acting up, turn it off then on again, maybe……..?
