The detail of the screw is a little blurry but if it looks like a TORX PLUS IPR (5 lobed Torx)

Torx fastner… you'll need these, or something like these. They are readily available...

Throw the box and sub in the trash(or sell for $100), there’s nothing to help them become a real low end solution.

Anyone know what tool/bit will remove these fasteners?

I don't, but I have a question for you. Where is that subwoofer you took a picture of? Also, I feel like my system needs way more bass. How do you add bass without changing a bunch of components. I would just like to add an amp and subwoofer.

Yeah it still has an awful sound even after filling with poly fiber. I assume even just putting in a 10" sub enclosure under the rear seat would be a big improvement even if hooked up to the existing sub wire. Not sure how much would be involved to get a new amp and sub hooked up.

Behind rear passenger side seat. I have the HK sound system on the limited.
