No specific issues or things I could point to that would suggest damage at all, ran like a champ until now, no shimmy or shaking, nothing unusual. Broke off merging on the highwayDang.......That could have been very serious.
Did it just break off during a turn, or has it hit anything like a curb?

Happening as we speak!I’d have it towed to the dealer.
Definitely report it to NHTSA. The dealer (mainly Stellantis) will try to cover this up.I’d have it towed to the dealer.
It's hard to tell if the lower ball joint went first or the steering knuckle broke first. Either could take out the other.
That was my first thought too, rust? But really zoom in close, I think it's just mud spray.Glad you didn't get hurt. Definitely report it to NTSA.
Seems to be an awful lot of rust for such a new unit. My 2021 2500 had 30,000 miles, Alberta uses a fair amount of salt, and I have nowhere near that kind of issue with rust.
Could be mud. That would be a lot better than rust. That was my first thought too, rust? But really zoom in close, I think it's just mud spray.
A bad part? I guess that's one way to put it. I'd call it dangerously poor quality boarding on criminal negligence. I shouldn't have to upgrade suspension on a brand new vehicle to do something as mundane like... TURNING LEFT.It was probably just a bad part, this isn't a known issue. At some point maybe now you can upgrade all the control arms.
I'm on your side, but yes if this was a widespread thing it would be different, but this is the first time I heard of anything like this and I've been on the forum for a minute or two. Maybe 1 out of 10,000 control arms are casted wrongly, maybe 1 out of 100,000? You were the lucky one, it happens, glad you are ok. Many people upgrade control arms, that was my only point, especially if you lift it or even level it that is a very popular upgrade.A bad part? I guess that's one way to put it.
