I ordered HPL SC 0w-30 this past weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone has posted a VOA on it? I don't want to pay for it again if we've already seen it.
I thought I recall seeing a UOA and folks saying they liked the way it looked. I have enough coming that I can use it for my next 2 OCIs so we can get UOAs on both but it'll be a while.

My last OCI was May 2025 and I'm still under 4000 miles. I'm averaging 9-10 months between changes now that I'm retired and next one should be this January.
here. Best oil on paper we've seen for the hemi, I wouldn't run it in a di, or redline either for that matter.

Some more hemi tick tests should be done, but seams like forum desire for more testing just isn't there.

No need for voa's mudge, there have been a couple already.

fyi..........I ordered mine too, but testing (UOA vs. VOA) won't happen for over a year for me - owing to Red Line inventory still left to burn off. I remember seeing UOA(s) too, being way low on wear metals - substantly lower than Red Line. Which makes since because PAO base oil is better at wear reduction in sliding surfaces.

And of course, cold ambient pumpability being inherently better as well.

The wild card is whether this witch's brew keeps lifter roller failure away like Red Line does. Seems like Amsoil was iffy, but it doesn't have the huge Moly additive spike like Red Line and HPL have.

We speculated if POE had anything to do with minimizing roller wear due to tendency to leave a film after shutdown (POE is polar molecule, PAO is nonpolar). We don't know. I'm ok with rolling the dice at this point, with the information the Forum developed.

Thanks, I knew I saw something. Well, 119,793 miles, just checked, and last OCI was 115,952, so January ought to do it, but it'll be next fall for a UOA on the stuff.

Hemi Gen III is diminishing. It's 20+ years old. I don't think Kuniskis is on the right track resurrecting Gen III and forcing eTorque with it.

It's bad enough they didn't create a new V8 like their competitors did. I don't see how Ram survives, personally. It's a damn shame. All due to corporate vulture know-nothings.

I think they should come out with a new v8, but at the same time I don't ever plan on buying anything newer then my 16. It's at 140k but I've been doing my best to keep the miles off of it lately. Prices are insane and way too much electronic crap I don't use or need. And like everything else it seems it's a race to the bottom. Plus none of these newer body styles car, suv, or truck trip my trigger

Today's experience with Red Line deteriorating pricing and availability reminds me of the great PUP product disappearance mystery - back then they used COVID as an excuse for their botched turnover of rebranding from charcoal colored oil jugs to Pennzoil colored oil jugs and bungled the transition - running out of product for months without uttering so much as a peep about why PUP disappeared.

I almost divorced them back then (2020?), and now I'm going to because they watered down 30 wt for API SP. SAE 30 is 9.3 cSt to <12.5 cSt, @ 100C. PUP used to be in the 11's cSt range, now 10.2 cSt. That's in the 28 percentile of the 30 wt viscosity grade, where before it was in the 60+ percentile of 30 wt Viscosity grade.

Especially bad for wear when we're running little motors HARDER than older engines!

I used this in my last OCI, seemed like great stuff and actually flowed quite nicely in the cold based on cold start oil pressure on startup and cold acceleration.

Where did this stuff come from?

Any advantage over Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 (@ $29 per 5 qt jug and available all the time @ Wally's)? Just the high ester content, that I can see. Which goes back to my earlier rant about Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 for turbo GDI engines and HPL SC 0W-30 for Hemi engines to replace Red Line.

I think the new formula was rolled out in 2021 for redline euro 5w-30. I overlooked it completely till this past summer. Im not sure how it compares but its high ester i believe the same amount as the old school redline 5w-30 along with the rest being dodecene pao

@Burla (or anybody else who may know), per our convo about my UOA, I'll be switching to Red Line 5w30 (from PUP 5w30), is it still recommended to add 15oz Lubegard? Amazon has the RL for $55/gallon, and seems to be the best price I can find.
