Time to break out the 3/8" drill bits....Imma call it my like a redneck SRT filter
The 20-820 & 10-48 on amazon are almost $20 a filter now! That's up $6-8 from two weeks ago when I picked two up...they are going away, hate to say it, but they are. The 10-48 are still on sale at RP direct. $12. Same with the 20-820. Shipping is about $3 per filter. Best deal currently if anyone is looking.
question for you guys who a familiar with tow haul. i have a 14 5.7 8 speed. running in tow haul has improved driveability greatly. my question is about running TH and also shifting manually via + - buttons. do you see any issues doing this while in th? i enjoy being able to control the rpms and drive how i want it to drive. my understanding is th changes shift points from stock programming a bit. any issues manually shifting while in th or should i take it out of th when i manually shift?

Is designed to allow you to do that. Do it every day with no worries.
Just be smart about it with your downshifts. You can’t make it up shift you just limit the highest gear. but you can make it downshift whenever you want.

No issues at all. Mine is actually tuned to drive more like T/H mode all time, but closer to the sport mode tuning in my Challenger. My T/H mode is also a little more aggressive than the stock T/H mode which I noticed made towing around the few steep grades we have here a bit nicer. I used to use the manual shifting alot, but after getting it tuned the way I liked I haven't touched my +/- buttons in a while.
you can control the upshift (2 to 3,.3.to 4 etc) by taching it up above where it would normally shift. this was my issue with the stock programming . always short shifting. i am very careful with downshifts, esp down by 2nd gear. at that point i let the truck shift itself to 2nd and first. then once at a complete stop ill go to first. i have driven many manuals in my days, so im familiar with where to shift etc.
I've been using TH so many years I forgot how many, 24/7/ Now, the only possible issue would be increased line pressure messing with the factory throttle body plate. Those are a fail point even w/o the extra line pressure. Shift kits are as little as juts a gasket that goes onto the plate to help it not leak, and then they have a thick plate as a more expensive option. 150 bucks versus 600 bucks. But, what are the possile costs for NOT using TH, right? You seen the issues with the rfe's I'm sure corey's video, a little extra line pressure is a good thing considering what we have. Throttle body upgrade is a worth while upgrade, the main reason I have done it you need a tune to maximize it.
do you have your transmission tuned? or just a custom tune? i was all about a custom trans tune with hp tuner and jay greene. but shifting manually really takes away the need to fix shift points. although at times it would be nice to just put it in D and go. im not in the city so its not a ton of shifting. but its fun. reminds me of my 03 cobra days (minus the supercharger whine).
Greene tuned on both the PCM and TCM. I have his tunes on both the Ram and my Challenger (392 A8) and I have to say the man does good work. Night and day difference over stock for both of them, but the truck was more noticeable going from stock to a 93 tow tune.
Yes, TB upgrade is on my wishlist. Before i add any goodies to this truck i need to put it through its paces and make sure it is all good maintenance wise. Fingers crossed these HORRIBLE roads here do not cost me any more front end / suspension parts. One wheel bearing replaced already @$325. Have owned the truck a little over 2 months.
