Forgot to mention the other arrow pointing to the cartridge on Mike’s filter I wanted to point out that since he has no bypass valve you would assume there could be concerns of pressure issues. But its a paper filter with no wire backing and the media is not collapsed. There really cannot be a huge amount of flow and pressure here.

Going to back Corey's find, that is because the oil has to push it's way through the sump filter before going through spin on. How many filters can they put back to back and still have good flow?

Good point.

I like what you said before. Im starting to lean towards the WIX for flow reasons. But ill still use my one RP this summer.

I've missed lots here as I've been working lots the last couple months , let me see if I've got this right .

Replacing the OEM spin on filter with a better Synthetic media filter ( Wix ) you must remove the replacement filter's plastic threads ( due to thread pitch difference) and install a better properly pitched metal threaded adapter ?

This thread is AWESOME !!

The thread pitch is the same on the aftermarket filters we are finding. that is not the reason we are switching to the metal threads. If you’re so inclined you may take the plastic threads out of the OEM and use them in an aftermarket.

They are 20x1.5 on both ends

We miss you around here Ron. You’ve probably got more experience with this kind of work/thinking ( figuring out this filter fiasco) than anyone on this thread I’m pretty sure.

I know right, Ron this time we figured a bunch of stuff w/o you sucker. Although ig you were here would probably would have figured it out a few days/weeks earlier, lol. We found the best filter thread for these things, hex nut so you can loosen, When you remove the filter, as in counter clockwise off with filter housing, it always leaves the thread on the filter, well only the one kyle bought has a hex drive so you can remove it from filter w/o stripping the thread.

Who has an rfe that didn't get the thread? Maybe make a ongoing list and someone from that group can pull a kyle. Guys, this upgrade is very important, the oem filters suck ass and the plastic thread is dangerous. Failures have happened just off this.
