What does the Android Auto look like if it's not built in.....connected with a dongle?

Like this. I was hoping yours filled the screen but I think it's a limitation of Android Auto in Portrait mode (they aren't currently supporting portrait resolutions)...835cf1ccafe3c515bc62b27894a351dd.jpg

I doubt Phoenix will come up with a solution for my PX6 unit going to the reverse screen and getting stuck there for 5 mins during start-up. It's over a week and they haven't even offered a possible fix. All they've said is they will check with their technicians....and after a few more emails, they said they will remind them of my situation. So much for good customer service from Phoenix. They weren't even this bad with my first unit. I think it's time to start the refund process with them on this one. I might actually try one more from Carsoll this time....probably the last one I try. The only thing I don't see an option for with Carsoll is for built-in Android Auto...which kinda sucks :(

Not sure if this has ever been asked on this post.... If I ever get one of these T-style radios to work, I'd like to get the new Pedal Commander that works with blue tooth. Does anyone with one of these t-style radios use the blue tooth Pedal Commander with it? I'm thinking I could use the Pedal Commander through an app on the t-style radio?

Good question but I doubt it. I know BT OBD adapters don't work.

I have both and love the pedal commander , no real reason to use with the radio because u can just adjust the settings right on the commander easier then the app . Would be available however if you wanted though.

Have you tried to connect to it via Bluetooth in the radio?

OK....I'm just not crazy about the look of the commander....the yellow doesn't work with my interior at all. I would rather mount it where I don't see it.....and control it on the radio screen.

I have not and your right it may not that way but honestly the app is not great and I prefer changing settings on the commander itself way easier

You could always change with your phone, I haven’t changed my settings since I found the one I normally use all the time. Would be rare to need to change on the fly in my use case anyway

I was gonna say the same. I think I've changed it maybe twice since I got mine (non-BT version).

OK.... for some reason, I was under the impression it needed to be turned on / set each time you start the truck.

I'm told that the latest firmware release for PX6/Android 8.1 radios allows one to alter the order and default app opened for the icons in the top menu bar.

That should make a few of you happy (without root).

I would like that! Ummmm…..ok, wait.....that's if I ever get a PX6 unit that boots up correctly.

My latest response from Phoenix.... WOW, they can't even figure out what to do with my return and they think my replacement PX6 unit works good. This was their response to my ticket with problems on the 2nd unit....9 or 10 days later.

I can confirm this.

Still want to get rid of this Nav bar entirely though. Lol

I never did receive any possible fix from Phoenix for my radio going to the back-up camera and staying there when starting it up. I did notice something else about it though....and wondered if this info might help someone here to figure out what's going on with it... So it goes to the back-up camera page....and will stay there for around 5 minutes before going to the home page. But, I noticed if I go to turn the truck off, the instant you turn the key toward the shut off position, it immediately will go to the "android" word screen and then will start up correctly. Does that info help anyone figure out what's going on with it? Another strange thing is it does this every morning....but usually later in the day it boots up normally. Not always, but usually.

Thanks!

I think this is just one of those strange flukes that happen with these radios and certain trucks including mine . Some of these things you can live with and some not . I would send it back if it did that to me .
I gave up working with Phoenix on my ac temp issue and have just learned to live with it .
