Agreed....some things you could live with. But, this is definitely not one of them. Yesterday, I requested to return this one too. Of course, they answered with "we're trying to get a software update".... It's almost two weeks and they never offered any type of fix for it. Tuesday is the end of my 30 day period.... and even if they were to get new software on Monday, I wouldn't trust having only one day to test it.

There is no update IMO that will fix this , they told me this for months then stopped responding since April/may and I just gave up . Tell them your contacting PayPal for a refund

My thoughts exactly... if they don't provide a return shipping label by Monday, I will let them know I'm contacting PayPal.

Received another update Firmware from Carsoll today. This one fully reset the entire system to factory defaults. So I had to use pictures I took of the user settings, 7890, and 8861 screens to reset it myself. As well as download all of the apps and launchers and reset all of those as well. This firmware was worked on personally by the software engineer to resolve the cold boot issue. There have been pretty strong assurances that it will resolve the problem. We will see tomorrow morning when I boot up the truck after an extended shut down.
Crazy how different Carsoll is in service. Super happy with them, in comparison to others *cough*Phoenix-sucks*cough* lol

Cold boot issue solved!

This firmware did it.
Cold booted, first try, under 20 seconds.

Mindblown
That'll make that firmware a hot commodity! Maybe even a good candidate for a root base?

To install it correctly :

You must rename the px6.zip file px6_format.zip

Boot unit fully

Insert fat32 formatted usb with px6_format.zip file into main USB dock (not console dock)

Reset unit

Wait until prompted to remove usb by black Dos screen

Remove usb

Enjoy

Before any of these steps it is super important to take pictures of all settings screens as you will have to fully reset every setting from scratch

On the older units you can export all of the settings to an external USB. The option was at the bottom of one of the settings menus.

I think so long as that export is in the root of the USB at startup it imports the settings. I haven't tried the import yet myself but the export gives you a readable version of the settings you have selected.

IMG_20191027_151913.jpg PX6 zip file.JPG I was wondering that too....so I grabbed a pic when it was done installing. The file was also named PX6, but their instructions didn't call for changing the file name like you did. I also attached a pic of the files in the zip file.

Here's the instructions Phoenix sent...

View attachment 184559

Identical APPVer.

I had to do the rename because I needed to erase the original FW to properly install the new bug squashing version properly.

If yours doesn't fix your issues. You may want to try the rename method too.

Takes longer to set everything back up, may be required for proper installation

Time will tell

Well, the update... Or the way I installed it, didn't fix mine. It went to the reverse camera screen and stayed there. I started driving and after about 4 miles, it booted up and went to the home screen.

I ran this by Phoenix and they said go ahead and try it... So, I want to try this update again when I get home from work today. Other than taking pics of all the settings to fix after the update... Is there anything else I need to do?

You could try to export your settings to an external USB like I mentioned. That may save you some time if it works...

Sorry I'm late to reply...

My unit would boot loop first thing in the morning for around 5-10 minutes before finally successfully booting to the home screen.
