After sending an email to Linkswell expressing my disappointment with their customer service.... I just received a new tracking number showing another package was sent out today with delivery for tomorrow.

True.... I would never purchase from Phoenix again. I couldn't imagine how high their percentage is for returns. They're so slow to respond to actually fix the problem, I ended up returning two of them. Sometimes, I would get quick responses from them....but it was just wasting time asking me to send them a video or something instead of them just reading the details in my email. Both units I had from Phoenix might have been fix-able if they had better support.

I also paid $1100 plus shipping for this Linkswell unit....so I would hope they at least have better customer support. I only bought this one because Steve wasn't willing to sell me his working PX6..... LOL

I would have done that! That's what this one cost....plus $40 for shipping. But, honestly, I think these units are so quirky that even if he sent his from Canada to me.... for some reason it still might not work.

I think they work differently with every trim level / vehicle .

I think that comes into play too. Totally guessing saying that....but my truck is 2013 and if someone had a working unit in a '14 or a '16, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it didn't work in my truck. Maybe I'm only saying that because I've spent the last two and half months trying to get one to work....with no luck yet.

I will say these are very sensitive to power fluctuations. Plugging in a USB drive is enough to make the radio reboot.

Geeeeeeeeeez……. I honestly don't know if I could do it that long. Life's too short to spend every couple weekends swapping out another radio or not driving the truck for weeks because you have no climate controls. At some point, I might just need to buy a '19 with a 12" radio.... though I keep reading about how they're a mess too.

My Truck is a 2013. So mine would be plug and play for you at least. Lol
I'm not sure if I know anyone else on any forums who have a perfectly working PX6 yet, so the price would be... $6999.99 + shipping On account of supply and demand Lmao.

This unit is rarer than a 25kt diamond. So I think I'll keep it. ;)

Installed the new main harness and control box and it shuts down correctly! Happy about that! Everything seems to be working....including the temp reading in Fahrenheit... which didn't work on the last two PX6 units.

One thing I don't like is the screen doesn't seem as bright as the PX6 units. Any idea if this is because it's an older version of Android? It seems dimmer both in daylight and at night. I have the slide bars all the way to the right (highest setting) and the small icon at the top left of the screen at the highest setting.

I believe they use a different display in the PX6s. No software changes will make it brighter unfortunately.

That's what I figured.... that sucks. It's a lot dimmer after seeing a PX6.
Well, if we could figure out a part number for the screen, it "should" be compatible with the older units. I'm thinking plug and play without root.
