I got them to work via APK files.
Which APK files? Did you just side load older versions of the apps you wanted?

It's possible they added Alpine specific settings but first see below...Both of you should try changing your vehicle type to Ram Hi or Ram Top (they may have changed the names with the PX6). That may be all you need to fix your issues. Those settings are basically their versions of our trim levels and the factory options to program the radio for.

It may that you use the pinhole reset button to take effect but at the very least you must restart the radio.

Actually I am starting to think I may not have the correct canbus module/version. If anyone has dual climate and it is working could you take a picture of the label on the canbus module? As for the Type setting, it is correct. So far everything works except the dual climate and not hearing the parking sensors (I do have it selected in the menu)

That's possible, but the module typically doesn't change. You would just need to flash the correct CANBUS update.

You should start small though with trying the vehicle types as suggested...

This has been done. I am currently working with Phoenix Automotive on this.

I did change the vehicle to RAM HI, this helps the auto AC but made no change to the Fade. I spoke to Tech at Linkswell and they say it is a Ram issue, something to do with their Amp controlling the fade and that their head units have no way to tap into the brains of the AMP. Does this make any sense? Im not sure how the old head unit could fade from front to back but the new one cannot.

Yes, it makes sense. The Alpine system uses a different speaker setup (9 speaker?) as opposed to the base 6 speaker setup. It is wired differently from the regular setup. If I'm not mistaken all audio (full signal) gets routed to the Amp and it's split off from there.

I thought they had a different harness or setting for the Alpine setup but I could be mistaken. All of the sellers have essentially the same hardware so an answer from Linkswell is probably the best most accurate answer you will get.

Maybe someone else with the Alpine system will chime in if they've had a different experience...

Has anyone bought one of the android auto dongles from Amazon or eBay? Apparently, the one that came with my Linkswell unit went bad. It stopped working altogether and won't even charge my phone through it anymore. I tried updating the Autokit app. The app seems to update but it does not recognize the USB dongle...just says to plug in the device. So, I'm thinking about buying one off of Amazon and wanted to see if anyone has recommendations. A lot of them are in the $60 range, but I'm hoping they last more than a few months like my last one. Thanks!

I might not need it afterall... Just tried plugging mine into the USB in the upper glove box and it works there! Going to see if I can do the update and then use it in my console USB like I used to. I'll let you know what happens.

I did check with Linkswell... They told me it seemed like it "died"... When I asked if it was covered under warranty... They stopped answering.

I was able to upgrade the "box" (dongle) with it connected to the USB I have routed to the upper glove box. Seems to work perfect connected there. But, still nothing when I plug it into the factory USB in the console....even though it used to work there.

How much? I would need it shipped to NJ.

Name a price you want to pay, it's of no use to me anymore...

That's good, have you recently unplugged the radio and plugged it back in? Did you check the gray USB plug adapter on the back of the harness?

This is the factory plug that feeds it.

It also routes through plugs under your driver's seat. Ensure all of those are plugged in/undamaged.

You can eliminate the radio harness as the culprit if you have an adapter like this to plug directly into the radio's USB adapter in place of the gray plug above...

I haven't unplugged the radio recently... I did check under the seat and found the wiring to the USB. Unplugged and re-connected it there. No change to the USB connection in the console.

I guess the next step is to pull the radio out and check the connection on the back. Thanks for the info and pics!!

This is my conversation with Sergey today.......

David: Playing around with this I found that when the 'Dual' option is NOT selected the temperature coming from the driver and passenger vents is different. If it is selected the temperature is the same. So the issue is, on the driver's side there is that range of 65 degrees to 91 (21 steps). The passenger will show LO. Starting to increase the reading will switch it to read HI on the 2nd press and will continue to read HI upto 21 steps. Then pressing down for 20 steps it will read HI until the 21 step it will switch to LO. I do believe the temperature is changing as it should, it is the reading that is not corresponding. Not sure if this helps.

Sergey: I need logs, may be I will see something

David: android.log?

Sergey: Yes from USB stick
David: I had the heat on this morning but leaned over to feel the passenger side and it was much cooler. I selected DUAL and the temp changed to match the drivers, So I really do think it is working, it is just a UI issue

Sergey: Not UI. Something incorrect from MCU/canbus
David: You would know better than me. I am just guessing.

Sergey: So i need another log but need change temp for passenger
There are only temp for LOW value. You need to ask from seller, may be need MCU update

David: That sucks. Phoenix Automotive's customer service leaves ALOT to be desired.

Sergey: I cannot fix it with firmware
David: ok. Is that the same for the parking sensor audio? I do have it selected in the menu. Or could the Car Launcher Pro app be responsible?

Sergey: I don't think that its Car Launcher.
Yes, the same

Yes, the same

He's much easier to work with and knows way more than Phoenix too (at least more than they let on).

I'd take his word as gospel on these. He's helped me with loads over on XDA...
