This is my first post and I am looking forward to browsing the existing posts in more detail. So I recently picked up this 2002 5.9L 4x4 quad with only 72K miles for 5000. It needed a couple ball joints and had an exhaust leak. I had a friend replace the ball joints, put on a set of shorties, and let him talk me into a true dual exhaust--no crossover, dual cats, dual mufflers, 2.5" pipe all the way. So now I have a CEL and not as much power as I had before. Needless to say I am a little ticked, though it does sound pretty nice. I went to a muffler shop and they said maybe I could find a splitter so I could put an O2 sensor on each bank. I have not been able to find any such critter. At this point I am about to have em cut the cats and go to a single in dual out cat. That's a chunk of change to waste so I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions on a better fix or if that is the best way? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to RF. Have you pulled the code to make sure its an o2 code? You might have lost to much backpressure, or the code is pulling timing and fuel, or causing the truck to run pig rich and lose performance.

Before removing the entire setup, I would try adding an X or H pipe to help balance out the system. That should help out quite a bit and be an easy fix.
