Welcome to the forum!

Is it the brake light or cargo light that will not turn off?

Do the rear brake lights turn off?

Just the third brake light everything else works properly.
I stand corrected, removed the brake switch. Key off third brake light on. Key on rear brake lights also on. Can hear a click under dash but can't see anything. I'm also old and don't move too well. Lol

The third brake light, like the rest of lights on the vehicle are controlled by the BCM.

I tried to look one up on NAPA's web site and all it shows is the TIPM and a bunch of connectors and switches. Yikes! I've been reading that that can cause some seriously bad stuff to happen!

Talked to several local mechanics who all told my that the TPIM in 2009 dodges is a common failure issue, I don't understand how this isn't a recall item as it can lead to airbags going off by themselves or not going off in an accident, all kinds of lighting issues, door locks and windows acting like they're haunted, just to name a few! I wound up ordering one through a local used parts place for $300 plus a $55 core which was the cheapest I could find by a mile!

Considering the BCM/TIPM pretty much controls just about everything in the vehicle, they can cause some pretty good headaches trying to resolve

What you're referring to are the cargo light and puddle lights (if you have them) stay on if one of your doors are not fully closed and is normal.
He has an issue where his brake lights are on, as in a back feed from a faulty TIPM.

Well the good news is that I found the short. My brakes are no longer staying on in fact they don't go on at all now. My truck is also stuck in park.

Even though I replaced the brake peddle switch, I'm going back with a VOM and see if there's a problem there as well as recheck the fuses.

Before you installed the replacement TIPM, did you discharge it?

There are some capacitive devices in most of the older TIPMs and installing a used one, in particular, could cause erroneous signal issues.

With the battery electrical connectors (positive & negative) from the vehicle disconnected, short the two battery cables together for 15 minutes. It's worth a try.

No I didn't know that , thanks! I'll try it. I picked up a code scanner and am getting 5 ABS codes and 2 SRS codes. I did put the old TIPM back in since that wasn't the original problem. I had also removed the Brake light relay in the fender well and re-installed it. The codes I'm getting are: SRS-U1414-00, U1415-OO; ABS-C-1000, UD102,C2206,C1090, and U0141.. i'll try your suggestion and see if it helps.
