What are you guys seeing for temps with the stock setup? This truck is new to me and I love that I have a factory tranny temp guage. I haven't towed much with it but will be towing 5,000 lbs up hills in the Mojave Desert this summer and am concerned what kind of temps I might be seeing. Any feedback would be appreciated.

You have the 6 speed or 8 speed? The 6 speed will run cooler than the 8. When I towed my wife’s Mazda 3 on a UHAUL car hauler cross country I was seeing about 130-140 degrees if I recall correctly with my 6 speed.

This was a older post of mine, hopefully it helps you out. Went from CA to FL.

Made it to Florida. Truck did well towing. I have not sat down yet and worked out my MPG and everything yet but I'll be sure to get that done soon. I can say that one tank I got over 14 MPG and on another tank I got about 11 MPG.

As far as temperatures goes the average for everything was about:

Coolant around 200 to 205.

Trans around 125 to 135, seen it as high at 150 but that was going up a steep grade trying to maintain 60 MPH

Oil temp around 220's

Oil pressure was always around 53-55 seen it go as high as 60 psi.

Wow! 125 to 135, 150 max. Thats pretty low. Mine runs about 165 around town. What year is your Power Wagon? How much weight were you towing? Thanks

I don’t have a Power Wagon, I wish I did! I have a 1500 Trandsman 5.7 4x4 3.55 gears and 6 speed.

Trailer with car loaded with house gold goods came in at a little over 6,000 lbs
