and funny thing about those studs is that they’re fine threaded on one end and coarse on the other. who is the idiot that thought that up

Again…i think you are trying to upgrade a part that doesnt need upgrading. I have never read of anybody damaging their tcase on these trucks before. Im sure it has happened before, but its probably so extremely rare.

Waste of time/money imo.

given where we like to go camping i want my truck to be as bulletproof as possible. if she’s going to price is reasonable i would definitely consider the upgrade on parts. that goes for the drive train to. the truck is my prized mule. i like to beef it up with in reason as it is still my daily driver.

Thats the thing. You can always beef anything up. 1 tons, military trucks, just about anything could be beefed up to be stronger.

But whats the point if its already strong enough? Whats the gain? Nobody is breaking power wagon tcases.

Unless you are swapping to 48’s and doing severe rock crawling all the time, i think the stocker will be just fine for you.

nobody’s breaking pw tcases i did. now it’s compromised. the torque placed on the tcase is considerably high. 2 of the studs are somewhat compromised i think a little support is needed.

It only broke because it wasnt installed correctly and the bolts loosened up. You have a rare occasion on your hands.

If you are super worried about the compromised studs you had to repair, by all means, try to add some extra support. Just make sure its on a flexible mount like the trans and motor. Or just replace it with a new stock unit…i see no reason to “upgrade”.

you are right the upgrade was just a thought. but i think that some sort of support is necessary because of my now compromised tcase mounting studs. even if it only takes up the weight it would help.

so here’s what i came up with 31/2 muffler clamp and a hanger. i will have to modify the muffler clamp because it is to wide to fit were it needs to go. so i will notch it that way it will be a better fit

well thank you mister charming. if i could afford a new t case i’d buy one. but after looking at some trucks at the dealership i am amazed that this is not a common thing. for the price of a 3 1/2 inch muffler clamp and a exhaust clamp. it would be only to take up the weight. but it has to be flexible
