There are literally millions of trucks driving around with the transfer case hanging off the transmission. A muffler clamp holding it up some more isnt needed.

thar very well maybe but as i said mine is compromised. so for the price (about 20 bucks cad) i think it will help. i realize that their a bazillion trucks out there that don’t have this problem but mine does. so this is the solution that i came up with. it’s been raining so much lately that i glad that my driveway is on a slope

truthfully i think that guy with bigger tires and such should maybe think about some sort of support for how much it costs. i know that there’s some pretty talented guys out there who could probably make something like that only better

Haven't paid attention to this post in awhile and just catching up. I'm going to say the same as others.
I don't see any reason to "upgrade" the transfer case. You didn't actually break it, rather it was just installed poorly and fell off. That has nothing to do with the strength of the transfer case. If you are concerned with the current one being compromised I would just look for a factory replacement in the junkyard. There is nothing special about the PW transfer case as compared to any other Ram 2500 with a manual shift version.
I wouldn't waste my time with a muffler clamp. Really don't think it would provide enough support to do anything.

the actual transfer case is fine except for the two compromised studs. i have been driving it the way it is. i m just trying to relieve a little bit of stress on the studs. all the torque and the weight of transfer case hang on those studs. i realize that there is a million trucks that have a billion colletive miles between them but mine is different because of the previous troubles. i think a little bit of insurance is in order. i realize that other people might have a different opinion but that is what i am trying it might not work but it is a simple and simple solution

truthfully i can’t believe that this is not more common especially among diesel trucks with more torque.
