What is this newest update for?
Had truck in for service today (Saturday 7/23).
They said there was a new update BUT it wasn't real important.
I am out of the 3/36 warranty so it will cost me 59 dollars.
Is it really important to do these updates?
I do not have nav. activated or the monthy UConnect either.
Is there a place on line to down load these newest updates and install them myself?
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
The above number is what is on my inspection sheet, so not sure if its the update or just a code.

Updates should be free
If you go on the uconnect website check for an update with your vin and you'll just have to download it on a usb and connect it to your truck

Sounds to me that it's a Uconnect only, and since you ( as I ) let the Uconnect run out and not renew it, I wouldn't waste the $$$.

Yes the updates were free while under the 3/36 warranty.
I figure it was just a ploy for dealer to get money out of people.

If you have a 2013 Truck with a factory RA3/VP3-NA then it looks like the latest update (v16.16.13) is for the Siri Handsfree features. Depending on how old the version is that is on your RA3 now, there may be other updates such as the anti-vehicle hacking update to make it more difficult to take over vehicle features via the cell antenna in the radio.

The 4 digit code on the work order is likely just a billing code.

Do the RA3's have an internal cell/antenna? (If you have the "Sharkfin" antenna on your roof then yes, vs the flat puck antenna).
