U-connect update.

Hey everyone.

I recently purchased a 2014 Ram 1500. I was wondering if there is any way to update the system to newer versions with the latest map update. I checked on u-connects website, and it says no updates are available. The current software version is 14.05.3. The truck is equipped with Uconnect 8.4AN VP4.

I updated the maps on my ‘18 2500 Limited when they had it on sale for $99. I was also sent a thumb drive which said to upload it 1st to update the radio before installing the map update. I didn’t really notice anything after doing it.

Please send us a PM with your VIN, we'd be happy to look further into this for you. We do not recommend using the Drive Uconnect site at the moment as it is not updated.

I recently purchased a 2014 Ram 1500. I was wondering if there is any way to update the system to newer versions with the latest map update.

The radio software/firmware doesn't update the map database for the built in maps, those you have to buy separately. Late time I checked it was $149 for the map database that was 2 yrs old at the time.You do however need to have the radio fully updated to update the maps.

Before you spend money on the 8.4 maps, consider upgrading the radio to either a UAQ/UAS or aftermarket. Any of those can support AndroidAuto/CarPlay which is leaps and bounds better than the OEM maps
