I downloaded the UConnect 18.45 update using my VIN. Every time I try to install it I get the Model Year Mismatch error message. I tried calling UConnect and they were no help. Any ideas?

Vehicle is 2016 Laramie Crew EcoDiesel.

Any help appreciated.

I have a 2016 RA4 and the download worked perfectly. We tried to do my buddy's 2016 and got the same message you did. Do you know what firmware you are currently on? I'm thinking that may be the issue. To see what firmware version you have go to your settings menu and then system information and scroll down to software version. His was currently 16.09.09. This is the message that came up on his and a pic of his software version. The next time he has a chance to come by I'm going to update him to 17.43.01 which was the latest version before the 18.45.01 and see what happens. I'm thinking it just has something to do with the older firmware. Maybe we could compare yours to his to see if that may be the issue. 3a6a5709286bdb7b367a624a8cd6af83.jpg5de618656bc37ca5a8e433fd81ed3069.jpg

There is a thread that was created by Mpgrimm2 that has many of the firmware versions including the 17.43.01. Your truck should have automatically updated to that version through Uconnect but we have seen how inconsistent that can be. You will need to make sure you download the My 16 17.43.01 from his post and then to a USB. I can't get the thread to send to this post so I sent you a P.M with the link. This is a screenshot of the actual thread. 7724cdf22c15c8111d6d7bb84b1f8628.jpg

Model year 2016 here: https://www.ramforum.com/posts/1125807/

Do you know the head unit part number? Im not sure if that shows in the System Information screen or not.
The part# does show up on the screen. The 16.09.09 firmware confirms it's a 16 RA4 from what I was able to research about my buddy's. This is his part#. He just hasn't had time to come back over so I can update him to the 17.43.01 to see if it helps. ed40f8826e9f3b8c8c3d2cea8a68c77a.jpg

I just double checked and my radio part# is 68258671AJ. The last two letters are inconsequential so we basically have the same radio and it's definitely a 2016 RA4. Im not sure exactly what is going on but it seems to be something with the 16.09.09 firmware. This version shows that it can be updated to the 18.45.01 in the Uconnect TSB on the pic I am attaching but for some reason it's not working on your radio or my friends. Another thing that is strange is the 18.45.01 firmware is saying the year is not compatible for your radio or his but that version of firmware is not year specific and should work on all the RA4 radios from 2013 to 2017. All the other firmware versions are year specific. I would recommend downloading the
My 16 17.43.01 firmware and seeing if the radio likes it. If it downloads successfully then I would then move to 18.45.01 and see if it works. I'm also wondering why your truck is so far behind on firmware when there are several versions after the 16.09.09 that should have done an OTA (over the air) update automatically. I'm wondering if they have been failing when it tries. It can also be because your not in an area that gets good enough reception for it to work. If it were my radio this is what I would do but remember anytime you update it's at your own risk. It is rare but things can happen.

I think you are missing a digit after the 7.

Got it.

Your head unit is proof the file we've talked about is ignored.

Back to "no idea" as to why some of the part numbers are failing the model year check.

Mine is the 68258671AH. I had Internet issues yesterday but finally was able to download 17.43.01. I will give it a try this morning and report back.

The 17.43 update installed successfully and I am currently installing the 18.45 update. No Model Year Mismatch message this time.

Also, after the 17.43 update, the last two letters of the radio part number changed from AH to AJ. Not my imagination. I took a before picture and compared.

18.45 continues to install normally...

Great news! That means it should work for others.

And yes, the part number did change with the 17.43.01 update. Mine did too.

It should not change during the 18.45.01 update, though.

That's good to hear. Once it gets past updating your Sierra Air Card which is what the update is actually for you should be good to go.

Remember when updating your maps it will ask you for the request code on the radio. Once you get that number don't shut the truck off. Everytime the radio powers down that number changes. Not sure if it's mentioned in the instructions now but it didn't used to be.

Hi... I have the exact same problem with the GPS not receiving and not being able to load 18.45.01 due to Model mismatch. I would like to try and load the 17.43 update except I can't find where to download it. The download website just asks for your VIN and only returns with the 18.45 download.
I have a 2016 Challenger. Any help is appreciated.

If you can, verify your hardware part number before grabbing a file just to be sure you get the right one.

Do you know if your head unit had nav from the factory, or did you enable it later by purchasing a code?
