Unsure what this is? Any ideas?

Unsure what this is? The pics aren’t the best but it’s a long piece that runs approximately the length of the tail gate. It’s situated under the tailgate and bumper. It also a few wires running off the one side. Any ideas?

guessing it's wired into your running lights.

Just had a quick look underneath. They’ve tide into some wiring for sure. Gonna have to have a better look once the rain stops!

My guess is they may have wired it in with a curt harness. Wires will likely run into the back of your trailer plug

Nope just be prepared to deal with the double sided tape. Its gonna be a pita to remove in such a tight area

I'm not a fan of ricing out a vehicle. But have you seen when they turn on? They may only turn on if you unlock the truck. Extra visibility at nights not bad lol... it's just copper wire, maybe run them into the relay that turns them into the rear window lights so they turn on with your key fob unlock so you have better visibility at night? The glass is sometimes half full lol... and I'm

Have the EXACT same thing in the EXACT same place on my 2011. It's a LED light strip and I know this for a fact because I installed it only mine plugs into the 4 pin trailer outlet, only wire I had to splice in was for the reverse lights. Hope that helps.

I have the same type of LED tail gate light bar on my 2011. I hard wired mine into the truck. My trailer connector got smashed and trashed. I have another trailer end to install on the truck, just haven’t wired it up yet.
