checked the current software, was at 33.00.41, so I burned the update to a DVD, went outside, fired up the truck. By the time I was finished having a smoke, the update was done, now I have epic black theme! Really does look better, I don't know why they had a blue theme on there to start with. Unless your truck is blue, there's literally nothing blue in these trucks haha

Maybe the jump from 20 to 33 took longer? Or maybe it was faster because I used a DVD instead of a CD. I dunno haha

I thought I already had this update because my start-up splash screen was black, like the first pics. As you guys posted more pics, I decided to look again. I had the 33.00.41. Updated it just now, went off without a hitch and have the new black theme.
Thanks for the info.
I had to chuckle to myself as I did this update. When I first started installing stereo systems, no one would have ever believed we would be putting CD's inside a head unit - much less flashing firmware. :)

I was thinking the same thing!
With the lockpick and my front camera that displays ay 7mph or less, I keep thinking how cool is this!

I know I'm one of the older ones around here, but:
I remember when I installed my first aftermarket radio with a cassette deck and how excited I was to play tapes in the car. LOL

Back then I never imagined using a laser beam to burn digital information onto a plastic disc and then reading it with another laser in my car radio that played it back as music!
And now even that is fast becoming obsolete!

I have 33.01.23 on my RHB so this update should work?
And it doesn't make a difference of its a Canadian vs American radio?

Just asking because like everyone else, I get nervous updating systems where a brick costs a ****ton of money.

Mind you. If it bricks, I'll do an iPad mod or something.

Got you beat by a little bit, I was installing 8 tracks back in the 60's.

Thanks for the heads up on the update for the radio. I will be updating my radio shortly, as soon as I get the time.

lol Not only does it not matter if it's Canadian or American, some of these update files are posted on Jeep and even Volkswagen forums.
Looks like these radios get around....

But, if you notice there are both American and Canadian guys on this thread who have successfully done this update. I'd say you're safe.

Yeah, I was worried a bit, I did have the "PND did not update!" though.

I really do wish that I edited the SXM icons for the different stations I like though, was simple, I just didn't commit to putting them back into the iso.

Found out what the camera delay feature is. Since its new on mine. Its for when you backup for a while and change back to drive the camera stays on for a bit longer that instant switch back like before to drive. It does have a red X in the top right hand corner if you want to go back quicker.

Needs to be burnt as an image also known as an .iso file.

I'm not a 100%. It's been a long time since I used Nero. Try Googling "Burn ISO with Nero vx.x" replace the x's with the version you're using to be sure. Wish I could be more help. I used to have issues with Nero when I used it to burn operating systems that were ISO files.

I don't know what kind of PC you're using, but Windows 7 and 8 can burn the .iso without 3rd party software.
Just right-click the .iso file you downloaded and then click "burn disc image".
Nero has a lot of options that can be confusing, if you haven't done it, or it's been a while.

I burn my ISO with Nero also. I'm not sure if it depends on the version of Nero, but with mine I just double click the ISO file wherever it's stored and Nero automatically opens ready to burn.
If I already have a blank CR in there it's just one click once it opens and that's the burn button.
