More standard. But I found out I can do some engine diagnostics with alfaOBD to get 3mpg better across the board with nitto grapplers 33.5 or 34.....275/65=20 with 65 lbs per wheel alone, to tires

I am strongly considering a throttle control device. Don't want to spend $300 for a PC, but I'd like to try something more affordable. I had a 2018 F-150 Ecoboost that had a sport mode, but rarely used it because it was too touchy. Would routinely break traction and fishtail with slight pedal press, plus it burns a lot more gas constantly being in the higher RPMs.

I get that but I can tell you after the first time you have drove it with the PC you'll forget about the cost and just remember how much more fun it is to drive.

Twice I didn’t wait and bought a vehicle that I wasn’t totally sold on, if the price difference is part of the equation, I would wait. I’ll never sell my Ram.

I'm sure, but there are some other products out there that do the same thing for a lot less $$$. I need to do some research on this.

The etorque flight was available on that correct? From a dead stop, that will compensate. However as others have mention gearing is worth as much or more than the engine torque and Hp. . They' re are a lot of door things said about that motor. However, this is going to purely boil down to the trucks mission statement. What do you need it to do. 3.55 is solid advice and most common after the 3.21. If you can find a 3.73 unicorn. It Chace that down. That etorque does fantastic at giving you the umph to get going of a dead stop. Don't underestimate it. I was imprempresive
I had an older V6. But I carry heavy loads and row more now, plus have the family on board so I would max a 1500 out. I agree ,though, the 6 is worth a look. And unless one will use all the extra towing and payload, there is quite a money saving opportunity to be had.

I've had 3 Explorers with a V6 and my 98 Dakota was a V6 5speed manual.
None could hold a candle against V8 power.
An old saying still holds true for me:
There's no replacement for displacement.

You do realize you are comparing 3 of the biggest pieces of **** Ford ever built, and the gutless 3.7 to a modern V6 right?

I’ve driven my share of nightmare V6s (GM 2.8L comes to mind) but have had some terrible V8s as well (3rd gen Camaros).

My wife has a 14 Dodge Durango SXT AWD with the Pentastar and the 8 speed trans. Weight wise is around 4900 something lbs, which is super similar to a RAM 1500 crew cab. The SUV moves just fine with the V6. She's just a 7 passenger family hauler and even loaded to its max fwy passing seems ok and i've never felt underpowered unless i was trying to have some fun with an R/T Durango side sy side, lol. The 8 speed trans makes all the difference in the world and the MPG is great when compared to my Hemi powered 1500 crew cab with 3.92s but the old 6 speed trans. I can tell you if you're looking for MPG and say around 1-4k lbs towing abilities, the V6 will do just fine. If you're thinking to tow 5-8k lbs then get a Hemi 1500, more than that consider a 2500.

I've gone back and forth. With any type of hauling you definitely want to go with the V8. If there's ever a chance you'll need to tow something then go with the V8.

Yeah I know, but they're all I've owned for comparison. Everything else has been V8s.
That's fair but if you drive a Ram with a 3.6L I can almost guarantee you will be surprised. I came from a 99 5.2L Sport...no regrets.

So I have the v6 penstar in my Pacifica and it is a very good engine, I am just not sure the point of buying a 1500 series truck with a v6. Go get a mid size truck if that is your need.

wut? Why would I want a smaller and less capable truck? The only midsize worth a **** is the Tacoma.

The other concern would be the trans if the 8 spd dangling off of the pentastar is a ZF then go for it, if not I don't know how good the FCA rfe's are.

I bought my new body style, 2020 Ram Quad Cab, Big Horn, 5.7Hemi, 3.92 gears 2WD, limited slip, trailer brake, for $31K this May. They didn't have a lot of trucks to choose from, but the prices were WAY better than Ford, Chevy, and Toyota. On a recent round trip from AZ to OK, I averaged 21 MPG using cruise control most of the way. Around town, I get 17~18 MPG.

The RAM equipped with the V6 has never come with an RFE, and if they did, they wouldn’t sell. The trans barely pulls well with anything lesser than a hemi, if you wanna see my point, google the Dodge Durango 2012 3.6 0-60.
