VIN unlocking

Scott, what is the cost to have a programmer unlocked?

it was $100 plus shipping both ways for me. when I had mine unlocked.

How can you tell if it's locked or not?

It will say its locked to a vin. At least it should when it powers up. You can do the flashpac online with the update if it is locked. My 3865 was locked when i got it and did it that way

+1, the product will show that the tuner is vinlocked once powered up. If vin locked the unlock is $100.

Can the vin unlock be done over the internet or is the unit to be sent in to SC ?

Yes, you should see an unlock option shown with the other downloadable features if the programmer is locked when you log into internet update.

Just select the option and move into the store to pay for the service. Once the service is paid for, the un-lock will begin automatically.

I am hopeful that the 2011 apps will coincide with the VIVID release. When I hear more on that subject I will let everyone know.
