Removing the black vinyl between the side windows…I did this to my 2012 when I had it but it was a royal PITA. Any tips this go around?

Remove the little screw in the door jamb holding the lower window molding on and pull away the door seal. I heated mine up a bit to release the glue and just pulled it away and off.

When i did this I removed the weather stripping screw that covers the bottom of your window and then it exposes a corner you can use to pull it off in one solid piece (at least for me) and then some simple goo gone to get the glue off and it’s done!

Don't try it in the cold weather. Makes it a lot tougher. If you can hold on until summer, do it on a hot day after the truck has sat in the sun.

You can also go after it in colder weather if you have a heat gun. Just don't let the gun linger in one spot too long. It would be a shame if you created a bubble in your paint.

3M spray on adhesive remover is a great way to remove any glue residue from the paint.

It all came off relatively easy on my 2012, it was only 2yrs old at the time. I'm just worried it's gonna be more of a pain at 5ys on the truck.

Great advice!

Mine will be coming off this spring if spring ever arrives :) I have a commercial heat gun that can get hot enough to solder on high :O so I will still with a hair dryer :)

I like it there, but for me it also has a very useful purpose. It gives me an area to push the door shut without having to touch the paint and worry about scratching it.

I peeled all mine off about 5 months after buying it new so it was pretty easy. Love it much better without.

Mine is bubbled and cracked at the edges so hopefully its not all brittle to the point it comes off in a million pieces. When i find time off from work I'll get after it.

Use a heat gun and slowly peel it off. It’s body color under the wrap. 15 min mod and it’s free

I love my truck!

I peeled off the factory flat black because it was peeling and looked like crap. I went back and installed a semi gloss black instead and it blends well with the window tint. Looks way better i think.

Used an old hair dryer, came off relatively easy, the remaining glue sucked. Goo Gone, which is what i had on hand, didn't really work too well. No pictures due to crap weather yesterday after i finished.

Here’s a good video, I think this guy used to be an active member here. I have this saved if I ever need to do this.

It's just starting to wrinkle up on my truck so I was contemplating removing it. I have an outdoorsman with the monotone package so its all one color. I think the stickers look good, it breaks up the color just a little bit. Once the wrinkles get to the point of being an eye sore, I'll take the time to peel them off.
