Shouldn’t be a problem, that’s what my local installer recommended to me for my truck.

So there wouldn't have to be any flashing. I hate having to go to a dealer

It should work just fine, but I'd recommend getting AlfaOBD and installing the factory remote start and enable the factory alarm yourself.
