I have the Equalizer brand hitch. It's simple, works great, has built in sway control, and no chains.
It's also one of the most popular WD hitches over on woodalls or RVnet forum which I'm a member on.

Equalizer works well. They say the Hensley hitch is the best....but it is much pricier than most all others

You,ll love those tires for towing, and perfect size. I ran 55 psi when towing and 50 in winter for traction. I recommend an 800 to 1200 lb set of bars for your set up (Tongue wt range) on a 10k system.

I was looking at the equal-i-zer setup and it seems pricey but you get the sway control with it also.

I payed $399 for my set-up without sway so i think that would be typical. Luckily my 34ft trailer has CR3000 suspension and truck has a hellwig so sway is not an issue

With a 29' trailer you have length to deal with on top of weight. That's a LOT of side area presented to wind, passing semis/trucks, etc.
You'll need AT LEAST the equalizer or Reese WD with dual cam setup. I have no experience with the EQ but have read good things.
I use the 1200# Reese trunion bar setup, and added the dual cams after towing it just once, with white knuckle results. With and without the dual cams was night and day despite how heavy the trunion bars are for the tongue weight.
I wish I had known length would be such a factor; don't just consider weight.

I have been thinking of getting this one for when I haul the snow plow or large vehicles on our car hauler.

Smilie- I think that would work for your application(s), but for a trailer, having an adjustable hitch head can be important. By varying the angle/height of the hitch head you can change how many links of chain you use on the WD bars, and can adjust the height of the trailer nose which dramatically affects how they pull.

Do yourself a huge favor, order an Equalizer Hitch and ball from RV Wholesalers (cheapest around). You will have an adjustable head, weight distribution, and sway control all in one. You won't regret it!

I have been thinking of getting one for a long time but since so only tow over 5k a couple times a year I have been putting it off. How hard are these to move from say a car hauler to a camper and back and forth?

I have a Quality S. Also used a Reese hitch with my quality s bars/sway control. When I had my Ram I had to buy an 11" drop for it so the camper I had at the time would sit level. With the new truck and camper I use the Reese with my bars.

My brother in law got a Andersen No Sway hitch from the guy he bought the camper from. Its pretty slick. But his camper is only around 4k.

The Equalizer brand? If so, what I would do is just purchase an extra set of link plates. That's the part that the L-brackets connect to and the weight bars sits on. It's the only part of the Equalizer hitch that gets mounted to the trailer.

If you did want to move them from one trailer to the other, it's two bolts on each side of the trailer tongue. Not a big deal to do, but might be a pain in the ass to do each time.

Look at the picture in the below link. You could get two extra sets of inner and outer link plates and bolts to mount on the second trailer and switch just the L-brackets between trailers. Or even easier, get two of the whole assemblies in the picture for the second trailer and there would be nothing to switch over.

i'm using a Blue Ox Swaypro BXW1000 for my 2011 keystone passport 290BH no issues, trailer stays straight behind me. and way easy to get setup compared to some of these other systems I've seen.

it's WDS and sway control wrapped up in one.

If you're happy with the Blue Ox and it works for you, great.
I don't get how it eliminates chain swing?
The only advantage I can see is how quiet it would be but for sway control I would put it against my banging, popping Reese dual cam system any day. Seems apples and oranges to a cam system, more akin to a traditional WD system. I hope that's a light tongue weight model their video shows; that metal seems to be largely thinner gauge welded sheet?
My $.02

I ordered up the equal-i-zer brand hitch should be here tomorrow, rv wholesalers didnt have express shipping as option but i left message and was contacted right in the morning time saying they had one in a various one state over that i will get within the week.

It doesnt appear to be too difficult to install i just cant see paying camping world or some dealer 225 to install and it could be wrong still

so far it has worked for me without issue, but then i'm no expert on these things, but I have been thru some seriously crappy conditions with it while towing with my old 07 ram. If I said I wasn't white knuckled the whole time i'd be lying, but i'm also not used to towing with 40+mph side winds shaking me all over the place. I have not used it yet on my '13 since I just got it a couple days ago.

when everything is in place and the trailer is lowered, the chains pull up and give the bars a little bend, I think it's that bend that give it the 'sway control' as it would pull it back into place if things go wonky? that's the way I *think* works

the whole system is quite beefy, nothing flimsy/thin at all. A friend of mine has a reese WDS, which looks very similar but yet different to the blue ox I have.

I was just tossing out another possible suggestion....that's all. i'll return to my n00bie existence and be quiet.

It's all good man; I'm a towing noob myself, but I did a LOT of homework before sinking $900 into our hitch system.
It's nice to hear about another viable option.
