You know... speakin’ of them big RAM letters back there, I was under the impression that only the chrome ones were actual real emblems that were stuck on with two-sided tape and if you opted for the body-color ones that there would be no emblems, that they would be lettering that was stamped into the sheet metal but they’re not. These are exactly the same as the chrome emblems.

Not saying I would ever change to the chrome ones but if I did, at least it’s cool to know that it would be an easy process.

I much prefer the black, and after seeing your pictures it confirms it. From what I’m reading here, they are the exact same size so I should just be able to order them and change, correct?

Well, I’m not gonna just come right out and say they are exact because I don’t know for 100% sure but I really don’t see why they wouldn’t be. I mean, they should all be the same with the exception of one being chrome plated and the other one being painted.

But instead of spending money on more emblems - as you can see here on this Ebay listing that uh, they aren’t cheap so, you could always either remove yours or if your good with masking tape, you could leave them attached and scuff the chrome, clean them up real good, and paint them yourself. That’d be a lot of precision masking so I think I’d rather remove them myself but as you can see below...

....there’s a lot of double-sided tape on there to cut through and clean off...lol. But at least when you go to stick them back on, you’ll have alignment pins on the emblems and holes in your tailgate to reinstall them with ease. You could even get creative like this guy did with his Rebel....lol

You didn’t have them painted to match? It definitely looks better that’s for sure. To be honest I’m getting more and more glad each day that my tailgate doesn’t have the gaudy chrome lettering. I’m proud of my Ram, really am, and to be honest I like the concept of the big flashy letters but even without the Limited chrome strip on the bottom, it’s just too much.

I personally like the big RAM letters in chrome.

Proud to show that my truck is not an average Ford. And it reminds me of the old Dodge Ram which Dodge written in big letters on the tailgate.

Before and after. No, I did not have them painted to match, but I like these with a little contrast without the LOAD chrome. Bought the black letters for $116 delivered. I am happy with them.
