Do not turn this into fear mongering with the "I thought I saw it here and I cannot remember where"...

Obviously, the problems are real but do not exacerbate it, I mean "come on man!" Really!

There's no 'fear mongering', I first mentioned it here at least as early as September of last year. You and I actually discussed it in passing in October.

It was direct information from a service manager and a few other trusted sources, the 2025s have a much higher than average failure rate and that is almost entirely due to Atlantis and the physical system it rides on.

Well, that sucks. At least they got you back on the road quickly. Is your proximity crap turned off??

Ok, one noticeable fix is the steps do not deploy on key unlock now. Only on door open.

Is that good or bad? Seems like an improvement as long as they deploy fairly quickly and don't whack you in the leg?
They work great. I am neutral to either way. But delpoy on unlock seem unnecessary.

My new 2025 Tungsten (8k miles, had it 4 months) prompted me for a software update on Monday. Prior to this I'd had constant almost daily uconnect errors, wifi errors. Anyway, this was first prompt for software update I had received. Hit "OK" to update. Crashed the software. Truck not driveable. Would not crank, had power, but would not crank and said "remote start disabled." So I had to have it towed to nearest dealer. They've worked on it for 4 days so far, doing multiple updates, replaced remote start kit, and have had some updates they cant push thru.

They just gave me a Jeep Wrangler rental/loaner and I have no reasonable expectation as to when I will get the truck back. The damn thing is glitchy and has been from the start, this is just seems like the inevitable result of basically being a beta tester.

Im not pleased. I owned a 2014 RAM 1500 Classic for 11 years that I bought new. Great truck. But it was 2WD and I really needed 4WD at this stage of my life. So here we are.

Edited to add: The also took care of two recalls since its been there, 1 for 12" instrument panel and another for a purge valve. Both those recalls dropped in December.

On my 24 Limited, they have only deployed when opening the doors. There "may" be a setting somewhere in the system for that, but I'm OK with only opening with the doors.

Well went on a pretty good road trip over the last couple days. About 1100 miles. All seemed good. 14.7 charging, 13.7 nominal.

No weird anomalies, electrical system seemed fine

EDIT: was probably pretty brave not checking things out for a few days but I needed to make the trip :)

Drive it, maintain it, enjoy dat $$$$$$$$$$$$ truck.

The charging numbers seem OK, bout wat I get in my 2019, but I do not have the extra start/stop battery either, tho not think that matters.

Have you towed with it yet?

If so, what type of trailer lighting? LED or Standard. If not, disregard.

Are you sure that wasn't another senior's moment?

They seem to be wildly contagious on this forum.

It is most unfortunate in the world today that manufacturers resort to using the end users as their quality control. Or, in some cases, it just doesn't matter after the sale.

.
After Biden, those are now called presidential moments...

I read this same article,about a year ago .
You would think that general quality checks would happen as the trucks went down the assembly line.
Especially with new electrical systems.
I'm aware this was a problem on a Jeep model(s), but after consulting with a Ram specialist it has not surfaced as a Ram problem.

ADDENDUM: This comment referred to short harnesses in Rams only.

RAM is dead as doornails. Working fine then dead. I figure I have a slow ground drain that will be about impossible to find. But going to have a positive attitude that it is just a bad battery.

EDIT: I have a jump pack that has worked on dead ass vehicles and mine did nothing, nothing. I tried 2x, it woke up then died immediately. Dead, dead, no power at all.
We ended up replacing under hood fuse block to correct drain- battery issues

Sad. I have a 2024 RAM 2500. We have had some unusually cold weather this month, -40's. My battery failed after less than 12,000 miles and 17 months. Called the dealer in Fairbanks. I was shocked when they told me that RAM does not warranty the battery in Alaska, it's considered wear and tear. I haven't had time to check if that is true or not. Anybody know? Needless to say, it will not be a MOPAR battery replacing it.

I trust you have either a block heater and/or an oil pan heater and use them religiously.
If not, check them out ASAP.

If you regularly drive for short periods, a trickle charger/battery maintainer is very advisable.
Ideally, something like an engine bay-mounted NOCO 2D.

Heat will quickly kill a battery, but extreme cold without regular, full charging is almost as bad.

Based on my experience with a 21 and now the 25 Rebel, I suggest using a trickle charger with these trucks whenever possible. I suspect many of these trucks with electrical gremlins have parasitic drains which compromise battery condition.
