I initially typed wha are you all running in in your rear end but it did not look so good typed out...
75w90 synthetic is a heck of a lot easier to find than that 75w85 synthetic Ram specs. here I always thought Mobil1 gear oil was good but doing a google it seems to fall short. In the past I have used Royal Purple and Valvoline synthetic..

I think when it comes to gear oil, frequent > expensive. In the past I've traded mine out every season. Though my service life includes heavy trail use and water crossing. Best deal is the Delvac 75w-90 in gallon container from Summit.

I was curious about the additive. As a former GM guy I watched lots of people dump in “LSD additive” to the Eaton G-80 “gov-lok”. The additive was meant for clutch based lsds, while the gov-lok was mechanical (not great but it was) and the additive can actually be detrimental to its function.

So what’s the verdict here?

I've run Amsoil Severe Gear and Redline in my rear diff. Both are top shelf gear oils.

curious why anyone is adding the LSD additive? these are not clutch style limited slips they have the helical style which should not need additive. I found this on the AAM website.

My Bad,
I see now your engine is a 6.4 so you have a HD truck not 1500.
You are correct, LSD in those trucks are Torsen style as opposed to the clutch style in 1500's.
Please forgive the new guy:rolleyes:

I posted it in the power wagon section so there would be no confusion :)

I feel like guys are posting 1500 info in the power wagon section. Some mis-information getting passed, not deliberately Im sure but some stuff is unique to the wagon guys. It gets pretty muddled sometimes with the info people are passing.
