Hello guys I dont think I have posted in a long time but anyway I need some advice. I got a 2006 dodge ram 1500 blue in color with 180,000 miles on it. As with this generation of truck the bed is rusted to crap on the wheel wells and the back bumper. Thats the only rust On the whole truck none on the cab wats so ever. So I went and kbb the pickup as it is. ( needs new tires, left front shock is squeaking very bad, drives seats is torn bad) just normal wear and tear. It valued it at $2295-$5353 which was very suprising to me. But anyway I am wondering if I should trade it in as it is, or do I want to put a flat bed on it, with new tires, and having some minor body work done? If I did that would that bring up the trade value or am I better off selling it as it is?

As is and sell it privately. You will get more for it. The dealer really doesn't want your truck and will simply hand it off to an auction. A dealer would have to inspect it and fix any problems found. That's what a Michigan dealer told me when I traded in an old car.

I say sell/trade in as is. A flatbed will cost about $2500 plus install cost. 2- front shocks $100. Tires a minimum of $500-$600
Bite the bullet and get an 18/19 with a warranty and new tires

I love my truck!

180k is nothing for a dodge my 06 hit 230k still ran good as for the bed they all do that ether buy a used one for $700 or so or just have it patched its not a hard fix they sell patch panels. If you don't wanna do any of that sell it privately ul get more.

Sell it privately, just sold a car on eBay for the first time was surprisingly easy.

Sell it privately is my vote too. You'll get more out of it and there are tons of buyers for inexpensive pickups.
