Running a 5.7L with KN CAI and aftermarket exhaust... Truthfully I don't even know what kind. I've briefly looked but I don't see any stamps. It sounds amazing though...

I was thinking of filling up with 91oct today.. any benefits?

None. Only way your going to take advantage of 91 octane is with a tuner that adjusts ignition timing and fuel trims
That's the thing.... I don't know if my truck is tuned or not. It came modded already...

We won't know if it's tuned either.

You'll have to do your homework from the previous owner

I started out running 89 as that's what is suggested by FCA. But lately I've been running 87 to see if it makes a difference. As of now, I'm not seeing any change in performance or MPG.

Buying higher octane gas when you don't need it is just throwing away money.

I did the same thing and came up with the same conclusion.

In my pentastar, 87. Tried 91 and felt no difference. Certainly nothing that warrants the extra money. Gas is expensive enough

93 octane hemifever tune.

I personally wouldn't risk engine knock by running lower octane. While modern day sensors do a much better job, there's still a risk. Also, there is the potential for ecu calibration to consume more gas to compensate, potentially negating any cost savings. Just my two cents.

89 custom tune but I'll put in the 87 tune for road trips.

Before the tune it was 87. No reason for anything else without a tune to match the octane.
