87 most of the time. Haven't noticed any difference running 89,91 or even 94. If it starts knocking with age I'll go higher.

If I pop across the border to bellingham wa it's 3.21 usd per gallon. On my side of the border it works out to about 4.50 a gallon. Go to Vancouver and it jumps over 5usd per gallon because of the extra transit tax they throw on it. It's about .45c per litre cdn at the pump taxes plus whatever taxes and levies and license fees the oil companies have to pay there. Ridiculous!

I don't have the luxury of a company gas card but I still run 93, mostly shell, in my Hemi and penstar both.

89 as the manual recommends.

I certainly wish they'd explain why though.

Pretty sure it wants mid grade 89+ ? Pretty much all high performance motors require 89 from mopar, some even higher.

95% or better of the time yes. Quarter million kms on my older one and still a strong runner and no fuel system problems.

It's just a matter of whatever octane we each feel works best for our individual trucks. Aren't most engines tuned for 87 anyway? I know my prior Titan said so in the manual.

Dont feel too bad... I just got back from Italy... It was $7usd/gallon equivalent. It hurt spending $90/ tank on a little dinky euro fiat. Doesn't matter what you drive, nothing gets good gas mileage flying around the highway @ 105 mph

The 5.7 Hemi is tuned for 89 , if you run 87 it will cut back timing de-tuning the motor.
Not the end of the world ny anymeans you are just losing some power and it might mot be much.

I run Top Tier 87 most of the time and notice more of a difference in mileage/performance in whether its TT or not more so than a difference in 87 to 89. I get the best mileage with Shell gas whether it be 87 or 89. We have a Spinx station across the street where I have a discount card for .10c off a gallon all day, every day, no limit and I still get better fuel economy from the Shell 87 than I do from the cheaper branded 89. Therefore I think the Top tier part is damn near just as important as the octane part.
