Well Guys I've Kinda Decided On 2 Mods

First Off...I Really Can Not Afford To Buy ARH LTs
I Really Want Them But Don't Think It's Going To Happen

So These Are The Other 2 Mods I Will Be Doing One Of Them Shortly And Also Based On Your Thoughts.

#1 OEM 3.92 Gear Swap Currently Have 3.55s Don't Really Want To Go Higher Then 3.92s
OR
#2 Shorty Headers Not Sure Of A Brand Yet But More Them Likely JBA Or BBK

Also If It Makes A Difference I Will Be Adding A DS Tuner When They Are Available...

Current Mods VR Intake 180 T-Stat 87MM T-Body And 14" Magnaflow Muffler

The majority of your posts seem to be focused on solely on performance so why not do 4.10? I gaurantee you won't regret it. If you're worried about fuel mileage, my average mpg went up after going from 3.55 to 4.10.

Skip the shorty headers and put that money towards a converter. The gains from the headers aren't gonna be worth the cost compared to a converter.

I vote for the gears first.

4.10s tq converter, tuner, headers in this order.

The difference between 3.92s and 3.55s is little. I think you'd be happier with 4.10s since you seem to be focused on performance. Plus if you decide to run larger tires in the future you'll be glad you put 4.10s in.

I don't have a tq converter yet, but everybody who has one says it's one of the first mods anybody should do, how can you argue with freeing up 30hp at the wheels?

As soon as tuning is available I think that will be your best friend. You can run canned or custom tunes, and also change your tranny shift points.

Just my 2 cents, happy modding bud!

Wow, 3.55's would even be nice.....I have 3.21's. But hey maybe I'll supercharge this thing, and with the 8 speed maybe I can become part of the 200mph club at the Texas mile. Lol

Don't forget the tuner. I'd actually get that before the longtubes

yeah, of course, once diablosport comes out with it, for sure some tuning

i've read a few other members discussing the gear ratio on their 8 speed RAM, seems like 3.55's are ideal for that tranny

i agree with tyler theres not a huge difference in 3.92 to 4.10 so might as well go with the 4.10 and the converter

I was thinking about 4.10s as well but I'm thinking at highway speeds the rpms will be high not sure never ran 4.10s

My other Consern is Moes sales a 3.92 factory gear
Do 4.10s require any modification work cause I've heard 3.92s is just a change and 4.10s require more things ? Not sure

Does ram make a 4.10 OEM I wanted to do OEM gears just to make sure my Warrenty would not be voided if they went to that depth to find out

Yeah the R/T has OEM 4.10s, so they drop right in like the 3.92s would.

My RPMs went up about 250 cruising down the highway which is really not the much.

Forget the gear swap. Get a 3k converter and you'll smoke trucks with 4.10s off the line and have a bit of an edge on them at the top end.

3.55 is a good gear I'd say it's underrated

That's funny. What about trucks with gears and a converter?

gears and a converter will make it harder for them to hook up and launch. its not about the lowest gear and highest stall. its about a balance of gear and stall.

It's almost just as hard to launch with just the converter and 3.55s. I know of a guy with 3.21s and a stall and he has worse trouble than I do hooking up.

Gears help more than just the launch with these trucks. The 3rd gear of the 545rfe and 65rfe transmission makes these trucks dogs and having the shorter rear gear will keep the RPMs closer to peak power. Look at all the quickest trucks from the 3rd and 4th gen timeslip and you'll see they all have short rear gears and/or short tires.

4.10 and LSD ******* ROCKS. thats all I gotta say, I can burn rubber real easily if I shut off TC on the console, and I've got 22's! I'm shocked I can get them to spin out so easy.
