On the 1500s with the 65 it's located on the passengers side of the trans cooler/AC condenser. Looks like a block with 2 lines going in and out...

That's cool so the codes gone and it's shifting normally?

Yup, shifting normally now. No more clicking into any gear, and the shifts are crisp and nicely firm. I’m going to check in a minute.

did you get underneath, did it have that bypass? What that valve does is stop fluid from going into cooler so it will get warm, but when it clogs you can see that is a bad deal. I see the kit/part is 99 bucks, so if you have it I think I can at least get that for hundred bucks.

It has that block thing yes, and it looks like it’s leaking trans fluid too.

get it off man, I bet that is the issue. Don't replace it, use the bypass one. You will never have an issue there again.

Oh i’m DEFINITELY doing the bypass, no doubt about that one. I’m thinking about doing a 160° Tstat on the engine too, to make sure it’s extra cold.

what temp has the engine been running at? say a 30 mile trip?

you see hemi395's trans temps when towing uphill? try 150f, lol. His engine temp at 225+, shows how hard that is working, transmission running 150.

30 mile trip will keep the engine at 204°F to 206°F and the tranny will stay at around 150/160°F

The oil temp? That is like perfect.

It's perfect for coolant as well.

The bottom one is the vb out of the truck originally, and the top one is the 545RFE VB that caused the truck to have so many issues. The TRS plate is clearly different. Surprised that the fluid is as red as it was on the top picture since it was having so many issues.

That really sounds like you have a TBV, it keeps the trans around 170 or so unloaded .....

Yeah, i was reading up on it and some people seem to have their trannys at 120-130 with no load after they replace the thermostat with the one that doesn’t have one (i forgot what that part is called)

I’m angry as the new trans to case bolt came in the day after i did all the work, and i’m debating dropping the pan to take out the other bolt that broke and installing it..

great pic, man I hate that thing. However, ender has 500k on this tranny, hard to complain about anything.
