I bought my truck in March 2014 and shortly after paid $2250 for the Lifetime MaxCare. I'm at 107K miles and have no plans to sell anytime soon.

I think it's been 2-3 years since they stopped offering the Lifetime plans. If I remember correctly, they never offered them on diesels.

I'm wondering how many people still have one going and are you using it? I just made an appointment for an evaporator leak CEL today so it looks like I'm going to get some more benefit. So far I'm at about $7500 worth of repairs done out of factory warranty. My dealer admitted to me that FCA is pretty sorry that they offered those because they lose their ass on people that keep their vehicles and keep it going (I'm firmly planted in that group).

PLEASE, NO WARRANTY BASHING OR FEASABILITY TALK - Go fight it out on one of 1000 other threads on the subject. We've all read it before - warranty companies are in it to make money, put the money in your IRA, warranties are a bad deal, etc, etc, etc.

I have the lifetime warranty on my 2014 RCSB. I've used it twice so far.... fine print does say after 7 yrs or so many miles they can buy the vehicle instead of repairing it if the repair costs more then the value of the truck.

I always knew about the buy-back but didn't realize it wasn't until after 7 years. Kind of a moot point I suppose since I can't imagine a needed repair that would cost more than a <7 year old truck. With used prices these days I don't think it will ever make sense for them to cash me out!

Got Lifetime MaxCare for my 2017 when it was about 1 year old. Have never had to use it (still under factory powertrain warranty, had a couple small things taken care of under factory bumper to bumper).

The buy back after 7 years - check your paperwork carefully. Lifetime MaxCare (note, this is a Mopar sold and provided warranty, NOT a dealer specific warranty).....MaxCare Lifetime is "voided" once the cost to repair becomes more than the book value of the truck. But this "cost to repair" resets for each visit to the dealer, so if you have 3 or 4 things to fix that when added up are more than the vehicle is worth, you can possibly get away with just having 1 done for each visit. That way no single "deductible action" costs more than the truck is worth, letting you have them cover it while you keep the truck.

I usually keep my vehicles for very long periods of time, so I considered Lifetime MaxCare a decent investment. I know extended warranties can be polarizing (people either love em or hate em), but for me I didnt mind spending the $$$.

Got the lifetime maxcare warranty for my used '14 1500 shortly before they dropped it. Right after I picked it up the ECM needed replacing, and just recently had to repair both leaky exhaust manifolds. I plan on keeping it til the wheels fall off, so we'll see how much more I'll need to use it. The service manager, who I know personally, is a straight up guy. He used to think all extended warranties were a hoax...until he saw this one. Unfortunately he said it was too much of a good thing, for the customer that is, so it was dropped.

PS...excuse me for getting off topic, but an interesting tidbit he mentioned in our last conversation that was news to me is that the brake calipers on the new Challengers will have to be unlocked by the dealer's computer to change the brake pads. Guess its just a matter of time before the backyard mechanic is no more. Hopefully not in my lifetime!

I have the Lifetime Maxcare plan on my 2017. I am still covered by the powertrain warranty. The only issue I had was a bad battery back in 2019 which was covered under the 3/36 warranty. Haven't had to use the maxcare yet.

As I read it you get paid out but keep the vehicle. You no longer have warranty coverage

As per my lifetime maxcare:
IMPORTANT! The maximum benefit amount should a covered component of the Vehicle fail will be THE TOTAL COST OF THE
REPAIRS PER VISIT LESS THE DEDUCTIBLE, OR THE CASH VALUE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICHEVER IS LESS! The cash value
of the Vehicle will be determined at the time of the covered repair and will be the average retail value as listed in the current NADA
Used Car Pricing Guide. If at any time the repair costs for covered component(s) exceed the Vehicle’s cash value, your final Plan
benefit will be our payment of the Vehicle’s cash value rather than the repair costs. Plan coverage and benefits will terminate
automatically and immediately pursuant to this provision and we will have no further obligations of any kind in respect to the
terminated Plan.

I still have it on my 16, at 41,000 miles I really haven't needed anything under any warranty.
I had 2 flares reattached and a door seal replaced but I think that's been it - both under 3/36.

Paperwork says I'm good until 2099 on my 16 Sport. I've also never had to use it.

It's the only warranty I bought. I'm probably still going to lose money, but the odds are at least not quite as casino like. 2012 truck, only thing I've used it for was a coil pack.

With the elimination of the lifetime warranty, it's a very solid reason to keep my truck even longer. So if temptation ever strikes, the warranty may save me money that way. :D I'll wait for the next generation or at least a facelift, though, the current gen just doesn't do it for me.

The interior and the ride are top notch! I’ve rode hundreds of miles in one and it is tempting but it’s going to take a serious powertrain upgrade by Ram to make me consider it, something in the neighborhood of 6.4 SRT numbers. If they go EV they can kiss my future business goodbye.

Im too invested in my 4th gen, with features that RAM never put in them :)

And my new expensive hobby is things that go bang bang.

I wish they offered a "lifetime" warranty. I would jump on it. I keep my vehicles 20 years on average:)
But now getting too old to crawl under truck. And the electronic chit is way too complicated.
What's the next best warranty for long-term???
Have fun

I have a 5 year unlimited miles max care. I usually drive over 30k a year with the business but the pandemic has put me at only 10k this past year.

I would have purchased a lifetime if it was available. Got the 5 years unlimited miles. For some folks who don't work on their own vehicle due to lack of knowledge, tools and time these are for piece of mind especially if you run a business and the vehicle is your livelihood. As a business owner I was able to write the whole cost of the warranty off my bottom line. Win/Win for me.

I have MaxCARE Warranty I bought it 30 months ago, under the program that is interest free, payments for 24 months. I have used it twice. I NOW HAVE 84,000 MILES NOW ON MY RAM. This has been a great truck so far.
