Wierd thing that happened for the second time.

So I'd say maybe 5 months ago, I was picking my daughter up from school, and I was sitting in my truck since I get there early, it was time to go get her so I got out of the truck and the horn started blaring. Went to hit the unlock button on the fob and nothing. Wouldn't disarm the alarm, so I started the truck, truck started no issue, but the alarm was still going off. I unplugged the horn fuse in the engine bay, let it cycle and then everything was fine.. ffw to last week, was leaving work (my truck is always unlocked at work) opened my pass door to put my bag in, and boom alarm going off and again, it won't disarm. Unplug horn fuse and let it cycle and then everything is fine. Anyone have an issue like this? 2019 5.7..

If it was the alarm, check your FOB. The little discs that are supposed to line up with each function button come loose and can shift around inside the FOB.

My remotes have done this several times over the almost 9 years I've had my Ram.

Usually, The lock/unlock buttons go crazy and lock or unlock with the slightest touch of the remote.

The fix is to buy a FOB (shell only) on Amazon, and swap the rubber guts with yours. You may need to clean your circuit board, 91% isopropyl and a q-tip works well (remove the battery before cleaning, and make sure its good and dry before reinstalling).

I'll check it out, but I didn't even have the keys in my hand. They were in my empty pocket. Just the oddest thing.. I'll pop it open and update.

Not sure how your fob comes apart, but mine has a little screw in it. When you remove the key, it's underneath that.


Just look to make sure, so you don't go prying it and breaking something. I think some fobs have the screw like mine and some do not.

When my fob acted up like that, you could just brush your finger over the buttons, with NO pressure, and it would lock and unlock the truck.
