So the other day the windshield washer fluid light came on indicating that I was low on washer fluid. I topped it up and today about a week later it is still on. Any way to reset this? It's indicated it was low before and I just filled it up and it simply went away.

Do you use Rain-x washer fluid? There have been a few posts on here about it creating a film over the sensor and stops it from working correctly. Some have had it replaced under warranty, some have said it wasn't covered by warranty, and some have cleaned it themselves.

I always use rain-x and had that happen to me also. Mine was on for a few months before I found out about the washer fluid causing it. There is even a bulletin or whatever it's called about it. I've read that if you fill it with the cheap blue fluid it will clean the sensor and it will work fine. Mine didn't, but I think that may be because it went so long. I've got a new sensor to install, just waiting for time to get it put in. It was only about $4 at the dealer.

Yup..happened to me. Rainx was the issue. I ran the blue stuff several gallons, but it didn't fixes the issue, so I went to the dealer and they replaced the sensor for me.

My light has remained on after months of using the cheap stuff. Im getting it replaced at the dealer in a little over a week from now. Guess we all just need to avoid winter rainx [emoji35]

Yup, after almost 2 years of using nothing but Rain-X, the same happened to my truck. It took a couple of gallons/refills from empty of "regular" washer fluid, but it did finally clear off the sensor, at least enough so that it's no longer giving false readings.

I finally changed mine today. If I knew it was that easy I would have done it last fall when it came on. It took less than 15 minutes. Just take the grill off and there is 2 bolts and 2 tabs holding the washer fluid reservoir on. The sensor is on the back side of that. Just pop up the red lock on the plug, squeeze the tab and pull it off. The sensor just presses in the tank. Wiggle and pull and it comes right out. t's easy and cheap enough that I will still use the good fluid in the winter, and maybe alternate the cheap stuff in the summer.
