I’m thinking for some reason the truck is not liking the key this morning. Most of the time it does not even acknowledge the key is being put in. Just yesterday were looking at the information on the display in the truck it said I was running at my normal voltage.

What is going on?

I have the battery currently disconnected and I’m going to wait for about 30 minutes and try again. If this is an issue with the truck recognizing the key from what I understand this might solve the problem at least for this morning.

Any ideas? Guess I might not make it to work today.

Stephs Durango did this and it ended up being a battery in the fob.

You have the regular Ram key right not push start?

My ‘14 2500 did this a couple of years ago. I could unlock it & remote start, but wouldn’t recognize the key, even the actual key. Had to have it towed to the dealer for a new ignition switch.

Regular key. No fob. For some reason this tradesmen did not come with a key Farb just a regular key that I have to stick in the door to unlock it.

Not sure maybe there’s some kind of chip in this key....?

Currently have The battery disconnected and I have my battery tender on it. I do not have a battery charger. [emoji2957].

Never replace the one i hade a few years ago.

Charging the battery up a little bit only to see if a low-voltage could be causing the key issue. I also have my heated battery blanket plugged in

There are chips in keys. For anti theft, dealer can reprogram them. How cold is it there this morning? I’ve seen that cause problems

And just for my ******* you key isn’t this right ? Yours is actual silver key?

Just tried to post a picture again. Look further up in this thread and you can see you have a standard key. Apparently I’ve reached my “cap” on the number of photos I can upload with “Tapatalk free”

Do you have anything you can check battery voltage with? These AGM batteries have a tendency to die all of a sudden....

Even the old style key key has a chip in it starting 15-years ago roughly.
