My overhead console shakes like no tomorrow I have no idea how Im going to fix that. Is not a rattle, the part closest to the windshield flexs over an inch up and down at full power.
I've got the same problem. Not quite to the same extent as an inch lol, but it drives me crazy. It gives me a headache pretty quick.

How hard are you guys pushing your gain? How did you measure whether you are clipping or not?

I have a JL how6v3 running at 600rms off a Kenwood xr amp... Gain is like 40% in order to get my hu volume to 36 out of 40

Gain level is fully dependent of amp used, subwoofer, and head unit (even then, at what level you set it). Comparing gain levels for any systems, does provide any real world benefit.

Yeah, why I specifically mentioned my hu.. was wanting to mostly know how they were measuring the sensitivity cause I tried with a volt meter last night and things did not go well.

You can try it based on voltage and a sine wave, works good enough. Other than that the best way is to get a o-scope.

I found out the hard way that my vt meter was bad ... **** started smoking when I connected it last night. Thankfully everything works fine. Amp didn't go into protect... I'm afraid at what I'd see if I open my amp and inspect the guts.. no fuses popped or anything

My headunit starts to clip at 29 so my gains are all set sine wave at 28. I set to a -5db sine wave from kicker website.

Hey guys I am fine tuning my sub tom. I dont think I have it wired correctly. Overall I'm happy with the outcome but when the sub hits low I get some pretty solid port noise. It could be me not giving it the proper wattage or me giving it to much power. I posted examples below lemme know how it should be wired.

I also think It could have something to do with the LP filter I have it set at 50hz. My goal tom is to wire it up as example 2 on the left side I believe thats 1 ohm.

I currently have it wired as Example: 2 right side

Also the Foxbox is tuned at 36hz what exactly does that mean for audio newbs

Why dont you wire it to 2 ohm? The amp says it does 500 watts at 2 ohm.
