As the info listed above came from WIX, they would be the ones you could contact to obtain the specifics,,,

It is assumed the same testing procedures were performed each on the WIX filters listed above. To do otherwise would certainly skew the results.
Honestly I don't have the time to go digging for all the data.

I would assume you're correct about WIX using the same test parameters on all their filters, but the real question is how does their testing compare to other companies testing and real world conditions.

Hard to say what company "A" , "B", or "C" does,,, Most won't post their data online,,,
WIX does, so it was easier to compare the differences between their filters.
Anything's possible, but it's unlikely that WIX, a company well know for filtering, would use any testing method that was viewed as 'inaccurate, inapplicable, or otherwise unacceptable' by the filtering industry.
Would love to skim over other filter manufacturers data,,, if there are any others that do post it online,,,

You'd be surprised what some companies do to make their products look better.

Take Meziere for instance. They're one of the best water pump companies out there. People will rave about how good their pumps are, and they're right. Meziere makes some of the best out there. But they also rate their pumps without any backpressure, meaning they flow WAY less than they claim

I will be doing this very shortly, I like the idea of having a real full size oil filter, seems odd to have a 7 quart oiling system and a filter about as big as my coffee pot.

I feel if I had a 3rd or 4th gen Hemi, this would be the first thing I'd do. I don't care if you have a Ram or a Charger, or a Challenger, or a 300, this is what I'd be doing. The fact that you can now use a 51515 or equivalent, is just frosting on the cake. I might take it one step further and plumb a little cooler in line.
Good mod, good write up.

Great thread to bring back, I forgot this one. Bookmarked it for when I get around to it.

I have had this same kit for months. Just to lazy(busy) to install it. Need to order the NPT fittings and 90* fittings. Makes for a more secure install.

Maybe when I do my winter oil change, when it is much cooler out. Need to look into braided hoses as well.

Have had this baby sitting on my workbench for a while too. Not too sure if I want to install it. There is some disagreement on the forum as to whether it works for the Ram 5.7.
It is a MoPar part, so that is a plus, and it is supposed to fit. The oil filter mounting boss is already drilled and tapped for the 3 screws to mount the adapter. The original filter nipple will have to be unscrewed:

Not exactly a remote oil filter adapter, but accomplishes the same end, easier oil drain and larger filter.

Sorry if I derailed the OP's thread. I will start a new one if I get this on and working.

I'm a little confused. For what application was the mopar part originally intended. You said there is some disagreement as to whether it will fit 5.7, does that mean it does fit other displacements?

Does anyone know if there's a kit that will fit a 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 Laramie?

This kit is supposed to fit the 5.7 and the 6.1 Hemi. Here is a screenshot of where I bought it:

When I was researching this another forum member, or 2, said they didn't think it was for the truck motor. But I think there is no real interference with anything other than on my truck there is a small wire bundle that is clipped onto one of the screw holes and that clip would have to be pulled out. A minor issue. You can see that wire in this photo:

I decided it was worth trying and bought the kit. Will start a new thread with pictures when I get around to installing it.

You might notice a small pressure drop SyN,when I did mine I had a slight drop in pressure. Before the kit mine idled at about 53psi,after relocating the filter it idles at 50 psi.I'd guess it's due to the 90 degree fittings.I upgraded mine to 5/8" hose and twistlock fittings, basically I copied CharonBlk's set-up.

Thank You Wild One for your sharing your experience.

After thinking about it while occupying the family bathroom. I have chose not to install the kit. My oil changes are fast and easy and totally mess free as it is.

It's just a bit less to worry about.

The wife has placed the thought within my head of taking over my Ram and Me trading her Edge in for a 2500 Ram w/6.4L to help with the towing duties of the TT and now thinking of a Pontoon Boat.

That's not a bathroom,it's the reading room,i do more reading in that room then probably anywhere else in the house, lol.
You'll have to post up a pic of the new truck and boat if you go for them.

It's not some thing I am in favor of. At my age I am thinking of $$ after retirement. Our Home is payed off. We just need to get our kids through college and then on their own. Then prepare for grand kids--->Big New TT and Pontoon Boat! I spent 3/4 of my life either on the water or in it. I want the grand kids to enjoy the Water Experience as well as Fishing! I have always tried to prepare Early and having stuff payed off just makes having fun that much more enjoyable.

I would rather keep my Ram and Pay it off then add a few items to help with towing. Like most women she is not happy unless she is spending $$.
Lucky for us the Lake and Camp grounds are only a short trip away. So pull the TT to the grounds, set everything up the night before. Then tow the boat the next morning.

She would like everything towed in 1 trip! I am not comfortable with that.
