One question... can this OBDLink MX and AlphaOBD app be used to turn on the turn signal lights in my tow mirrors to run with my parking lights? Not as DRLs, but when my parking lights are on, I want my mirror signal lights to illuminate also. Can this be done? Or do I have to go with the wiring method I found?

Thanks so much!! Those pigs in slop don't have anything on this girl's level of happiness right now!
Congrats on your DRLs and stay warm!

I wish I could be proven wrong but the Alfa program will not be able to enable mirror signal lights as running lights at night with the park lights. The wiring method is the only alternative I am aware of right now.

The wiring route it is then. I figured it would be asking too much to be able to change by just clicking in an app a few times, but it will be more fun this way anyway. I absolutely love wiring new toys in/on my truck. :) Thanks for the confirmation!

I have a 2006 1500 ST, meaning manual windows, manual locks, no fog lights, and not even cruise. I figure 2006 Rams are supported by Alfa because 06-08 used CAN-bus.

Anyways I know Alfa for the older 4th gens and 3rd gens is pretty uncharted, but theoretically I should be able to enable these features through Alfa as I install them?

I have enabled and disabled DRL, set the DRL to fogs, fog lights on with Hi beams and lane change indication on my 06 3500. So it should do what you need.

Check out the other AlfaOBD thread here (if you haven't already): https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/
A lot of good information, and what others have done, other questions. Your 2009 should have a lot of the same capabilities. It will require a bit of reading.
It depends on what you want to be able to do.
I would say it is definitely a worth while benefit investment for your truck.

FYI - here's what I did in my 2011 --

added rear camera into my factory 430N radio
changed tire size to what I am currently running
added DRL to turn signals - soon to change to fogs when LEDs come in
added no dropout on fog lights with high beams

Anyone had any success in adding additional FOBs?

Also, I used the cheap ($12) Ebay "modified ELM327" for Fords (use FORSCAN on Expedition). Worked great and just rec'd the OBDLINK SX - haven't tried it yet.

Where do you adjust the TPMS thresholds?

Body Control Module Vehicle Config 2:
Maximum Load Inflation Pressure Rear Tire:
Maximum Load Inflation Pressure Front Tire:

If you have the light heavy switch you might want these also:
Light Load Inflation Pressure Rear Tire:
Light Load Inflation Pressure Front Tire:

Supposedly you need to do a RF hub reset to get the RF module to reload that values but that may be on the 16+ only.

Do you have a ebay link to the modified ELM327 you used?

Just got my OBDlink mx in the mail today. Hooked it up, and was able to turn my tow mirror turn signals on, and the puddle lamps. I had a hard time finding the setting for the puddle lamp. It was under vehicle configuration 2: door lamp configuration.

Did one at a time, key cycled. Worked instantly. My tow mirror are the trail ridge purchased from 1aauto. I bought them last June. Unfortunately, my passenger side turn signal doesn't work properly. Going to have to file a claim. In addition, both have moisture inside the turn signal lense.

Looking forward to seeing what other things I can accomplish. I'd really like to switch out the manual HVAC for a single zone ATC. Has anyone done this successfully?

Is there an option disable the "hyper" blink via AlfaOBD if LEDs are installed on a '11?

Supposedly you can set the light type for each exterior light to halogen, led or hid. That should end the issue with LEDs in turn signals hyper flashing.

I'm going to be swapping my dual headlights for a set of quads soon, and will be putting LEDs in when I can afford that. I know Alfa can enable the quads without issue. A lot of this stuff is still experimental in the early 4th gens.

I think I seen the option but didn't know if that was only for headlights?

I'm driving so can't hook up and look right now, but it was my understanding we should be able to set light type for all lights? If the option isn't there maybe send an email to developer and ask him.

I've been running through the settings for the body computer, and found a few that work on my truck. 2011 2500 SLT, 6.7L, crew cab.

Car configuration change

Vehicle config 2: reverse chime
Beeps several times every time reverse gear is selected.

Vehicle config 2: window express feature
Switched to all windows, still did just the front

Vehicle config 2: interior vehicle theft alarm configuration
Set to: VTA
When locked with no key in ignition, red light blinks on instrument panel. I'm at work, do can't test what happens when a door is opened.

Successfully replaced my dual headlights with a set of stock headlights and programmed them without any issues, and set my turn signals to drls.

Also, enabled a setting called door alert. It turns on the 4 ways and flashes them when a rear door is open while the truck is running.

After enabling the Vehicle Theft Alarm turns on the red blinking light on the dash, it does nothing if the doors are opened from the inside while locked.

Lastly, does anyone know if it is possible to have low beams stay on with high beams?
