Had a open day & put in my Limited front seats in 2014 3500 CC! First I deeply appreciate and applaud ALL who have contributed to this endeavor! A wealth of knowledge in the thread! 2nd a huge shout out to grimms2 Mp for the high quality plug & play harness! And his A1 customer service! Thank you Mike.
I stumbled a bit when it came to navigating alfaobd menu’s..... Once the menu selections were done a few times the programming... turning on the options went well!
After a few key cycles and a trip down a country road, the Hickups begin?
1st I have the seat heat & vent icons on the Ra4 radio screen, tap to select, either one, they will come on for 10sec then shut off?
2nd the radio volume quit working on wheel switch and volume knob on radio, when on the short drive. Then hit a few road bump and it started work again...hmmmmm?
Anyone have this happen, how did you resolve it?
Thanks Dave.
PS. I need Black console, or Limited lid?

Did you activate the vented seats? You mentioned the heated seats turn off after around 10 seconds. Do the vented seats work? Also if the vented seats are activated they should also appear on the controls screen as well as the app screen. This is a pic of mine. It looks like only the heated seats are appearing in the pic you posted. Another thing I noticed is your controls screen only fills half the screen when selected. Every RA3/RA4 I've seen or worked on filled the whole screen when controls is selected no matter how many icons are on the screen. As far as your heated seats not staying on it can be caused by a few things. Are you sure you enabled all the codes? You can refer to the first post of the Alfa thread under known working codes to verify you didn’t miss anything. I would also go back and check all your wiring to make sure you didn't accidentally pin the wrong connector in the PDC and seat connectors You can also use the Alfa tool to connect to the drivers seat and check for DTC codes plus run diagnostics.

Thanks Rick, yes I went back through the alfaobd menu’s and made sure the List of options provided by Mike when he sent the new harness were all present. Went for a drive this morning and yes my climate screen looks just like your when the sea at icon is selected. Better yet both the vent and heat functions work at all the levels! Thanks for you input Rick! Enjoy your weekend!

So everything works now? If so that's great. Enjoy your new seats. You're going to get spoiled to them real quick!

I just got off the phone with him, for some reason leaving of that last setting:
Memory - heated seat material type

may have been what caused the weird RA4 display. Just had to make sure he got em all. All good now.

I've never seen not having the seat material type set in the BCM cause the screen display not to show correctly but who knows? It's working correctly and that's all that matters.

So I installed the Laramie heated and cooled seats and the electric controls worked immediately and now I programming my heated an cooled features, I am using the 2018-2019 powernet body but not sure thats correct on my 2019 Ram Classic, I don't have the switch panel yet, so hopefully it still works, the soft buttons haven't showed up on the 8.4 yet, not sure how long it takes.

I just want to thank you and everyone that helped gather all the information to do this install. I just installed 2016 Laramie heated and cooled seats in my 2018 Express today and I would not of attempted this if not for this site. I was lucky and the factory harness plugged into the seat harness with no modifications needed. I just enabled the codes with Alfaobd and everything showed up on the 8.4 radio and worked. Next is to add the instrument panel switch and the install is finished.
Thanks again.

It's going to take your truck several on/off cycles in order for the controls to come up on your screen. The 13 to 17 RA3/RA4 radios read BCM changes much faster than the 18+ UAS/UAQ radios. As long as the codes are enabled in the BCM just give it some time and they should show up.

The only thing I like about the UAS is the Apple Carplay, they are a pain. The waiting game makes me feel like I missed something, Ha!

You will need to add the correct wiring if you haven't already and then enable the correct codes.

I would definitely use a multimeter to check ignition on run power in pin# 7 and 8 in the driver's seat yellow connector. Tbry should have power when the truck is running. Also verify that you have all the wires connected to the PDC in the correct location and then check to make sure all the wires have a good connection with the multimeter.

I couldn’t figure it out so I just gave up and focused on upgrading to the 8.4 and new HVAC. I picked up a screen at the scrap yard and installed it. I used the screen for about 2-3 days with the old HVAC as I was waiting for parts to make the HVAC conversion harness. I gave the heated/vented seats a try with the new screen in but still didn’t work. Tonight I made the conversion harness and installed the new HVAC and oddly enough the heated/vented started working. I guess I just needed the new HVAC Module for the heated/vented to work.

Normally the heated seats and wheel will work without installing the 8.4 HVAC module or RA4 radio. It was an option on the Bighorn with the RA2 5" radio. The vented seats will not work until the HVAC module is installed. I'm not sure exactly what was going on in your case but I'm glad you got it all figured out.

Are the best places to get heated and cooled seats still seats n such and eBay? I am thinking about doing this to my 2016 Big Horn and there are no local wreckers anywhere near my location.

Thanks
