Although it may be installed by a robot I'd bet the issue is human error. Either an issue with the program or fixtures used in the process. However, based on some of the information posted it might actually be in the design.

So, six months into my replacement window, I look at it this morning, and the six month old window has the same crack that the first one had on it. Drivers side top post above the sliding piece of glass. I'll take it back again to the dealer for another new one. This is really going to be bad after I get my topper installed if it's going to keep happening every six months. Glad I upgraded the warranty to 7 years bumper to bumper. At this rate, I'll have 14 new windows. I'm glad I have the agents contact info at FCA from the first go round still. @RamCares

Good to see you have some humor with what you're going through. Yea I think the extended warranty is in order too.

Guys,

All you need is a little Flex Seal.

No kidding, I bought some flex tape for my situation. I hadn't actually put it on yet.

I've had my truck for over 2 years. In that time, I've had the 3rd brake light replaced every time, so I am on my 5th CHMSL. Still leaking. Had the local dealer (not where I bought it) keep it for 2 weeks the first 2 times it was in & 1 day the last 2 times it was in. Still leaks. On the second visit, the dealer said they saw a body seam leak. Did OK for a short time, but it's still leaking to this day. The first time the leak got addressed, I had to take it back after they replaced the RFHM under the 3rd brake light. That first experience left me waiting for a tow truck. I'm glad I took the salesman's advice & bought the extended warranty. Sounds like I'll be using it after the factory warranty is up. And the dumbest part of all of this is I can go through a car wash with no leaks. :Insane:

After reading all of this, I might give the reseal procedure a try, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Second window replaced. It appears there's a slight difference in the plastic. The first two windows plastic header pieces looked as if they were made of three pieces across, fused together end to end, though this is not where the cracks were appearing. The new one appears to be made of one solid piece of plastic all the way across the top of the frame. I'm hoping this is the redesign and I won't need to go through this again.

anyone have issues with the rear window frame having cracked. 2019 Ram Laramie 4X4. noticed 2 small irregular shaped cracks on the top framing of the rear window yesterday. I saw a blog on YouTube where the guy talks about this and getting it fixed under warranty. going to the dealer tomorrow (02/21) but was hoping someone would've had this fixed or info on getting it fixed.

Mine hasn’t cracked nor leaked yet. In hopes of preventing it from happening (am getting my Leer topper installed next week), I used the 4” Flex Seal Clear Tape to cover my CHMSL and 3 on each side and 1-1/2” on the top. Will see how it goes but I wanted to ensure I don’t have to remove the topper due to a CHMSL leak.

Mine cracked as well. I was more mad I have to re tint the windows. But they had a new part number. Hopefully it fixes the issue. I’m In az and only notice it after the one rain we had. But seems to be ok lol.
