I agree and apparently the jeep gladiator zf trans gets a steel pan which is another option for the durability part. No extra oil capacity increase though.
Any links? I’m curious because that would be nice too. And does that use replaceable filters

No I learned about it after I bought and installed the ppe pan. Jk gear and gadgets talks about it in one of his videos where he does his 6.4 hemi with 8 speed swap into his jk. I think he references part numbers for it too. That's where I learned the gladiator came with a steel transmission pan

update, took the truck on a 70 mile trip yesterday, mostly freeway transmission temp around 145 deg with Caulk's thermostat bypass installed at 70 deg temp. much more acceptable over the normal 180 to 185 deg would be running with the thermostat .

For some of us the pros outweigh the cons. For me I’m going for added capacity and extra cooling plus the aluminum pan should be stronger than the plastic in a few aspects.
Dont get me wrong, it definitely has some pros to it. I had looked into the steel pan from the Jeeps as well but couldn't seem to find one available. I think maybe a Land Rover or something European also uses a metal pan.

I was on board with the PPE pan for the replaceable filters but when I realized you can get an OEM-style aftermarket pan on ebay for $30 the PPE pan didnt seem so appealing.

For the price, that's how I feel too. Maybe if it was a $100 less, it sorta of the reason I never got one on my orange truck. If Jessie didn't make this bypass. It would be a must.

Still I might get it for the more cooler temps and better places drain plug.lol

If that was the only way to reduce trans temps it would be 100% worth it. I'm also pondering true duals with an x-pipe so I will re-route that pipe that goes under the transmission when that gets installed. For now I just cut down an allen key and its good enough access.

Drain is in a different location so you can actually drain the fluid before taking the pan off and filters are replaceable.
You can drain all the fluid before you remove the pan with the stock pan. Cut down an allen key and its easy peasy. $30 ebay pan is the same price as the replacement filters for the PPE pan, and I still have $300 in my pocket.

I get what your saying and that's awesome the stock setup works for you. With what I do with my truck the ppe pan offers more than just cooling which is increased capacity so more fluid available when the roads are very steep allowing for better pickup of oil over stock. It's not an upgrade for everyone but I like it

Here is the pic of a PPE pan installed. Notice the location of the drain plug.

Mine's here and painted, but I need to get a new o-ring for the drain plug. It was out of place a bit and pinched. Waiting to hear from PPE if they'll send me one, but I'm just going to find one local (25mm ID, 3mm thick).

Interesting, looks pretty simple. I'm curious how long it takes to get to 185.

Installed the heater delete.
I debated on doing something similar but drilling it out to a -12an and running new an line all the way to the front and putting in a standalone radiator for the trans with a 160° in line bypass thermostat
